Powerplay is fucking horrible, and the reset the tackle count for a penalty bullshit, just means we'll see more and more holding down and hands on ball in the play the ball early in the tackle count.
NRL 24-22 Indigenous at the end of the 3rd. Indigenous still have a powerplay up their sleave though for the final 20, NRL are all out.
Can't imagine it working live at the ground though. You'd be sitting there confused for a fair chunk of it I'd reckon. Also don't know how they'd work it for sin-bins as far as repeat offenders or professional fouls go, the next break in play might not be for a long time. I wonder how the players would've coped had it been limited interchange as well.
Yeah, not a fan of either the Union style advantage play-on stuff and certainly not the powerplay horse shit.
I really like it I just think the rules need to be changed. I.e small infringements such as holding the player down, hands on the ball or offside should just see a reseting of the six, there should be no option to kick for touch or goal on these small infringements. Professional fouls or more serious infringements such as head high tackles or taking the player beyond the horizontal should result in a stoppage of play and the option to kick for goal/touch and if any further action needs to be taken it can. Refs just need to be hooked up to the sound system to announce a new set of six.
I think some sort of new signal would be better than hooking them up to the sound system. Something like the one arm wave in the air to signal 6-again but different so as to make people aware it's a penalty infringement.
