Alien: The Forum Game

Here's another game. I ran it in the Spartans sub-forum for a while, but it died out due to general inactivity on the forum.

It's based on the Film, Alien and will be similar to a Mafia game, but quite different in a number of ways as there'll only be one Alien.

The characters will be:

The Alien
Ash
Kane
Ripley
Dallas
Lambert
Brett
Parker
Smith

So, there's room for 8 players (the Alien hatches from Kane, so I've added an extra non-Canon character into the mix - Smith)

MAPS

 

The objective is to kill the Alien, or escape from the spacecraft.

Other points to note:

Jones, the ship's cat is on the loose too.
The Alien will grow stronger throughout the game.
One of the crew (selected at random) is an Android and is looking to preserve the alien for the Company. You will not know who the Android is.

 

RULES

You are either a Crew member or The Alien or The Android. Their aims are as follows:

1. Crew

To survive and/or kill the Alien
There is an Escape Pod, the Narcissus. You can only fit three crew members in the Escape Pod.
No crew member is willing to abandon the others.

2. The Alien

To survive and kill all of the crew

3. Android

The Android looks just like any other crew member.
In the film, the character Ash was the Android. However, the role has been randomly assigned to make it less obvious who the Android is.
However, he is actually a robot and a stooge planted by the Corporation onto the mining vessel.
His aim is to preserve the alien by all means necessary.
If that means eliminating other crew members, then so be it.
Ash wins if the Alien is alive at the end of the game.
The Alien will not attack Ash.

How the Game Works

Each player will start in a different room.
You can talk in this thread about strategies, about what you want to do.
However, you cannot disclose:

1. Which room you are in - this is a bad idea, the Alien could be lurking
2. Who you are

"Night Orders"

Each "Night" phase, you will submit an order to me stating which room you wish to move to, depending on how many moves you can have at a time. Most of you will only be able to move one room at a time.

Instead of moving, you can search a room to find items that could be useful in combatting the Alien.

It is up to the Crew as a group to determine how you may utilise these items.

"Someone else is in the room!"

If you end the turn in the same room as someone else then you learn who they are and what their forum ID is. Again, this knowledge cannot be openly shared in this thread, but it will allow you to know whether you can narrow down who the alien might be and who you can trust.

If you end the turn in the same room as the alien, then you will be attacked.

If you have any items, you can attempt to use them.

CREW have priority over the ALIEN when attacking. Humans can attempt to use any items before the Alien attacks.

"Using Ducts"

Each room has a duct access panel in it. Instead of moving to an adjacent room, you can instead opt to use the duct in the room. This will take you to a specific room on the same floor as the one you're on.

I have a map of the ducting system, but you'll have to map it out for yourself.
