Alien: The Forum Game

The Nostromo have taken two extra personnel on this latest mining excursion. Crewmen Patel and Smith join the team.

Whilst in hibernation in deep space after a long stint of mining asteroids, the crew are woken by alarm sirens. The ship's computer, Mother, has intercepted an alien distress call coming from a local planet LV426.

The crew are told to investigate, and given the extra crew on board, Captain Dallas decides to take crewmen Patel and Smith on this excursion. The trio find a hulk of a spacecraft which appears to be deserted.

The technology is staggering, but the threesome continue to investigate. A large pit in the middle of a huge atrium looks worth investigating, and crewman Patel is sent down to investigate further.

Crewman Patel finds some kind of mysterious eggs, which still look to be alive. The egg starts to unfurl like some kind of demonic flower. Before he can retreat, a skeletal hand with a whip-like tail smashes through his helmet and latches on to his face.

He is carried back to the Nostromo and despite Ripley's protestations, the unconscious Patel is allowed back onto the ship.

Patel is monitored and the "hand" investigated, but before the crew can find much out, the hand drops off of Patel and he regains consciousness.

The crew breathe a sigh of relief and prepare a big meal before re-entering hibernation. Then, as the crew watch aghast, some kind of alien beast bursts through Patel's ribcage. The alien, no bigger than a cat, scuttles off out of the mess room.

Before the crew can re-enter hibernation, the Alien must be destroyed. Little do the crew know, however, that there is a traitor in their midst who will do anything to preserve that Alien.

All I need for each "day" of game play, is an order from you each.

 

This looks kinda interesting although it doesn't really seem like a mafia game. It seems more like the Zombie thing that Escath runs or perhaps a combination of the two.

 

Yeah, it's probably half way. It'll be a lot more simplistic than Escath's RPG, but there's no lynching involved.

 

Is it the daytime now?

 

No such concept as night time/day time in this. An unspecified section of time passes each time I've received a full set of orders.

I've got about half the orders in at the moment. You can complete as many actions in a particular time period as specified in the number of moves allowed recorded in your character sheet.

The main moves you'll be using each time you send me a PM would be one of:

Search
Move to xxx (adjacent room - note ladders and hatches between floors also count as a single move)
Use Duct

You can use your imagination to some extent, but those will be the main commands in play at this stage.

 

I reckon we need to inject a second alien

 

I think we should organise to search one room each. You don't have to do it now, and you don't have to say as soon as you've done it- you don't want to give your position away - but agreeing to search a specific room at some point should give us a good chance of arming ourselves.

The Alien has not been detected.

 

Even if he is the alien, I don't really see what we can do about it. I think I'd rather avoid the alien right now.
