Yeah, interesting. To me, instances of a player making a line break himself and then using a pass to beat the fullback should actually count as a LBA, because you're assisting the player you pass it to in breaking the second line of defence. It doesn't seem to work that way though from what you've said.

I suppose it'd becoming confusing if the bloke passed, and then the receiver got tackled in cover by the fullback. Has he broken the second line of defence or not? Furthermore, for there to be LBA credits, there have to be LB credits I suppose.. and crediting someone backing up with a line break would be silly.

I'd definitely like to see a combined "all assists" stat, anyway. Some LBAs are also TAs, but some aren't. Some TAs also aren't LBAs. So looking at the stats separately, there's no way of knowing how much they overlap for each player. A player could have 4 LBAs and four TAs that were actually eight entirely separate plays, while another player could have the same stats from four plays.

I'll post it in here because this thread is partly about a bloke in Reggie's, but fuck there are some pretty decent first graders knocking around in the nsw cup at the moment. it furthers my thoughts that a voluntary trade system could benefit fringe first graders and the nrl in general.

Players like Kevin Naiqama, Jake Mullaney, Dayne Weston, Matt Hilder and Trent Hodkinson would all benefit.

wonder what happens if you add Sam Williams to this poll?

I think he's the real deal.
