There's no way Sims should be starting ahead of both Napa and Wallace.

We need to get Hess in there too.

Milford's a waste of the 14 too. If there are no injuries you can't bring him on.

  3. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

100% forgot about Hess. He'd come into the bench. There's a heap of different options we could go with with the forwards, unfortunately they are generally pretty average.

Can move Norman wide and Morgan into the forwards. Could also have Milf @ 6 with Norman 14.

Morgan has worked so well as an extra playmaker from lock. I don't see any reason to change that, especially if it involves asking him to play centre for the first time, and in an Origin match. There's no way he's a better centre option than Gagai, imo.

I think Morgan would make a better centre than Gagai if he played there all the time. Too much of an unncessary risk for a pretty small potential gian though really. I'd leave him on the bench.

    Maroon_Faithful likes this.
  7. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Yeah I agree with all that.

  8. Magic AJ Parker

Paul Gallen's comments really make me wonder whether he only retired last year because he was given a tap on the shoulder.

  9. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

He wants to be the centre of attention. Kind of bloke that would love 2 send offs. I read somewhere he took a kick today. What a fucking tool.

  10. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

He took the last kick from in front after the siren. Nothing wrong with that for his swan song rep game.

  11. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Norman won't get a gig. It'll be either Milford or DCE imo. So we're looking at:

    1.Slater
    2.Boyd
    3.Chambers
    4.O'Neill
    5.Gagai/Holmes
    6.Milford/DCE
    7.Cronk
    8.Myles
    9.Smith
    10.Napa
    11.Gillett
    12.Thaiday
    13.McGuire

    14.Morgan
    15.Lillyman
    16.Guerra
    17.Papalii

    Pretty fucking ordinary...

  12. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Myles shouldn't be considered. Not in the top 10 props for us anymore, cunts lucky to be in first grade.

  13. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah I'm sure MF agrees but he was posting an expected lineup there. I'm pretty sure Myles will be playing as well even though he clearly shouldn't. I think it's a good thing to back players through dips in club form because that can be caused by all sorts of things, but Myles has just declined in the twilight on his career rather than merely dipping out of form.

Brent Read saying Thurston will most likely play in Origin 1. Very low grade year they reckon.

  15. Julian BJ Taylor

Read's had the good oil so far this year. You'd have to have serious doubts he's good for game one though.

And just ftr I would definitely pick Anthony Milford if he's out. Yeah he's inconsistent at times in club football but I reckon Fittler, Thurston and Daley would have been when they got picked too. And I'm not sure there has been a more prodigious talent in the 6 at that age since. And I just can't ignore the 2015 GF. He should have won the Churchill medal in that game which lends to him being a big game player (yes, small sample size I know)

So according to foxsports, NSW backline is looking like:
    1.
    2. Trebjovic
    3. Hayne
    4. Dugan
    5. Ferguson
    6. Moylan/Maloney
    7. Maloney/Pearce

Really hope we don't see a halves combo of Moylan/Maloney. Presumably Tedesco at the back, but I guess Moylan might get the nod if they skip over him for the halves.

  17. Magic AJ Parker

Both the Trbojevic brothers are expected to be picked. Tedesco is pretty much a given I think.

Usually I'd hard on about the fact that we really need to pick one of Moylan or Hayne at fullback but I think even more important this year will be what Daley does with the hooking rotation. We're not going to get away with Farah + an outside back. Farah is barely up to playing 40 minutes at club level these days.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

    It'll be Pearce/Maloney. No question.

  19. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah Moylan won't be playing at all IMO. He needed Penrith to be doing well to get picked I think, or one of Tedesco/Pearce/Maloney to be injured. I'm not really sure I'd pick him myself tbh, and I'm a huge fan.

  20. AVA T Delonge

Yeah, I'm of the same opinion. Only mentioned it because going off the article they just mentioned that a Pearce form slump could still see Moylan in with a chance.
