That's not a penalty. You can't play at the ball with your face. That's accidental offside. Correct call.

What about Hayne impeding Slater when he jumped about 15mins too early for the bomb he put up? Somehow NSW got the scrum, and IIRC, scored.

I'm not sure if you're serious or not.

Myles played at the ball and he was offside. It doesn't matter one iota if Smith played at it or not he propelled it forward.

That's not illegal as long as he's onside, which he was.

Almost certain the knock on was actually called for the NSW player hitting the ball out of DCE's hand when he was trying to offload, which resulted in Slater booting it into Hodkinson.

I really dislike that play but I don't think he broke any rules?

MF/Cribb to correct if I'm wrong.

Hodges wasn't penalised for pushing Jennings. He was penalised for taking too long to get off've Hayne which is why Jennings pushed him.

Hodges holding down Merrin and the pocket referee yells out milking yet Hayne still gives Hodges the penalty.

As bad as Scott was. Tamou was as also at fault for the McQueen and Slater's 1st Lb.

    Ah cheers.

I even said at the time that I really don't like that play. Unsportsmanlike IMO.

I'm over Tamou. I plain don't think he's that good.

DCE looked like he was in backrow mode for half the time he was on the field. I think he even took a couple of hit-ups when he first came on.

I can't believe people are arguing about this. He did not touch Slater so how did he impede him? If Hayne wants to jump up early miss the ball and not lay a hand on Slater it's fair game.

I may need to watch the replay again but I'm fairly sure that's not true. Jennings had no right to push Hodges. He did it very soon as or slightly after the tackle was completed.

And it was correctly overruled by the control ref. Cunt was all over him.

Yes it does. That's accidental offside. Yes Myles was offside - accidentally. It comes from the original Union rule.

    He impeded Slater, IMO.

I agree but that's not all he did. He deliberately balked by swinging his arm wildly to put Slater off.

Lolol that's because Hodges had him by the jersey and was dragging him down towards himself and wouldn't let go.
Nah it doesn't matter if the 1st person who touches it does it by accident (Cam Smith), it's whether the offside person accidently touches, which determines if it's accidently offside. Although I can't remeber if Myles delibarately grabbed the rebound or whether it hit him back before he knew it.

if you can do that without touching the defender or knocking on the ball than I see no problem with it.

That's my interpretation. As soon as you play at the ball you're no longer 'accidentally' offside.
