Was a hand-ball. Shoulda been a Maroons' penalty :ninja:

I have no idea what the emoticon means, but he was definitely Qlds best so I could see them giving it to him. If we had of scored off that bomb he put up that would have been all-time.

It means you said something stupid.

Magic's post was in reply to my post about the luck Queensland had with the refereeing in the last few minutes. The referee's surname is Hayne. You should be able to figure it out from there.

The strangest ref blunder was the whole Hodges/Gallen/Inglis thing. Hodges let the ball go after wrestling with Gallen so the ref stopped time for Slater who was down and then let Inglis play it?

Haha fuck, I totally skimmed over everything else and just read the end of Magics sentence. I had money on Myles to be motm so I've been looking for any excuse to whinge about it.

Technically he was held. He was grounded and Thurston had a hand on him. Doesn't matter whether the ball carrying arm touched the ground or not. I don't have a problem with it being given though because it was very quick and Thurston really did fall off quickly.

No they weren't IMO. They didn't police the ruck well at all. Some of the holding down was comical. One for each that I remember were out and out embarrassing.

If we're going to do this though we have to mention all of it. NSW's first try came off a bullshit penalty. Jennings pushed Hodges, the tackler, Hodges of course responded and we got penalised for it.

Lol what? That happens in every game every week. What a fucking terrible comeback

Not to mention QLD's first try actually came off of a dud knock on call. I'd go as far as saying 100% of the 50/50 calls the entire game through, not just the last 10 mins, all went QLD's way.

A terrible comeback? You just implied that because something happens every week that it's therefore okay. Yeah it happens every week and it should be a penalty every week.

Jennings attacked a defender as he was making a tackle. Penalty every day of the week. We got penalised because Hodges pushed back. So your claim about all the 50/50's going QLD's way is just incorrect.

And by the standard of a lot of people on here from last year, Hodges had the right to punch Jennings in the face for it.

But it's not a penalty every day of the week? It's never a penalty, even if you think it should be. It pretty much never is.

Yes it is. I've seen a few given this year. Especially if it leads to a blue which this nearly did.

But even if I agreed for the sake of argument that it doesn't get penalised, I'd still be saying it should be. Watmough used to do it all the time in Origin. And he never got penalised for it. Doesn't mean he shouldn't have been. He most certainly should have. It leads to fights.

Whatever, you're clutching at straws regardless. There's no way there was two sides to the story, NSW were dudded for most of the match.

Clutching at straws because I highlighted an incident where the penalty clearly went the wrong way and it lead to a try?

I don't recall saying QLD didn't get the rub of the green. All I said was if we're going to mention the calls that went against NSW, we should mention the ones that went their way as this one clearly did. Hodges would never have pushed back if Jennings hadn't pushed him first.

You saying that every 50/50 went QLD's way is nonsense. There were several other calls that went the Blues way.

Yes, NSW were consistently wronged by the officials. I've gone over the game a second time and there were plenty of terrible calls. Maybe 1/2 50/50 calls that went against Qld.

Just a few examples of poor calls:

    - The Hodkinson 'knock on'. Not only did he not play at the ball, it went 2 metres backwards
    - DCE physically holding Jennings who was looming in support, should have been a penalty as soon as Hayne was tackled/lost possession
    - Tate's knock on, wasn't called, Qld score off the next play
    - Hodges drops the ball, Slater goes down injured, Inglis plays the ball. I mean seriously
    - Myles offloads to Smith who isn't looking, hits him in the face and bounces straight back to Myles (who is directly in front of him) who plays at the ball and it's not ruled an off side penalty

    There were others too.

    Matty Johns:

Reynolds was the second best player on the field. The supreme competitor, he drove the Maroons crazy with his energy and fire. Reynolds was the man who really got the NSW attack going

And a bit further down in the article:

The Morris brothers almost suffocated Inglis out of the contest, while Beau Scott constantly came up with the important tackles that Daley selected him to make.

  17. Wilson SB Wilson

Inglis batting the ball out of Lewis' hands and it's Queensland's scrum

  18. Julian BJ Taylor

Having watched the replay he missed Slater twice, Inglis once and McQueen once which all led to very threatening line breaks.

Scrub consistency etc, that was the correct call. You can't have that given as anything other than a knock on if we're being serious.
