2013 State of Origin

It's fucking horrendous. You could count on one bloody hand the number of Blues player's who've actually played in a winning decider over all Origin history. Luke Lewis is the only current one for NSW. The only current QLD players who haven't are Chris McQueen, Daly-Cherry-Evans, and Josh Papalii who obviously have never even played in one. To have a 62.5% record as QLD do is phenomenal.

Honestly, QLD should just go out and break Farah's jaw:p They are so fucked if he goes down early or late but particularly early. Creativity, kicking, defence, even the most basic prerequisites of hooker like passing and direction. Can't even imagine watching a Dugan/Bird/Pearce/Maloney spine. Imagine Maloney having to play hooker for 60 minutes in Origin...FMD.

MF has the biggest stiffy right now

He's rewatching the game as we speak in preparation for tomorrow's thesis

Scott's non-try due to the streaker should have been awarded anyway imo. The player (Hoffman?) who trips/dives over the streaker is clearly offside on the replays anyway.

How many players from Nsw current team would be in the best possible team post 2000s?

  7. Pretzel P Retzel

Dunno hey. Even standouts like Gal have competition from the likes of Webcke, Civi and Price. There's been a fuckload of good playrs in that time.

  8. Rocks DN Boland

He got back as far as everyone else did all night on their tryline

Only Gallen I'd say. Hayne has been a weapon in attack on the wing at different times and Bird's been solid, but I don't think they'd get in there.

    Zero......

Doesn't make my point any less valid.

  12. Cribbage RG Cribb

Bird should be in there IMO.

    My side would be:

    1.Darren Lockyer (c)
    2.Darius Boyd
    3.Greg Inglis
    4.Brent Tate
    5.Timana Tahu
    6.Johnathan Thurston
    7.Andrew Johns
    8.Steve Price
    9.Cameron Smith
    10.Petero Civoniceva
    11.Greg Bird
    12.Gordon Tallis
    13.Paul Gallen

    14.Craig Wing
    15.Matt Scott
    16.Shane Webcke
    17.Steve Menzies

    No Freddy Fittler.

  14. Cribbage RG Cribb

I was assuming he just meant a NSW 2000-2013 side rather than a combined effort.

    Mm. Misread.

In my head I had Hindy, Fitzy and Kennedy in the back row, but that's all based on childhood memories, fucked if I ever analysed a game properly pre 2007.

Not that much can be said for me now, I wrote Watmough off before last nights game and he was brilliant.

It is a pity Watmough doesn't play like that a bit more often. He has put in a few excellent performances at Origin and then filled in the gaps with some really ordinary games, like he did in Game 1 and 2.

In the first two games of this series he looked really hesistant and did his stuttering runs into the defensive line and then last night he took the ball at full pace and looked like he was trying to skittle the defenders like bowling pins.

Yeah at the start I ment that but worded extremely poorly. Then someone replied and I was keen to see both versions
