    Um, because it was a good movie? The acting was high quality and Fincher is a great director. They also probably benefited a lot from the original being made only a few years previously.

    Why are you so averse to the re-makes?

    Because films should very rarely ever be 're-made', appropriated maybe, but plain repeated no. Especially when they've been made so well originally only recently.

    Inside Llewyn Davis. Gets over 90% on RT and Metacritic. Love the Coen brothers. Watched the first 45 minutes and refuse to sit through the rest. Bored out of my fucking mind.

    Seriously, reading reviews all over the place, you would think this movie is the best thing since The Godfather. It's fucking boring and insipid. It gets 10/10 from the SMH reviewer and is labelled the best film of 2013 by the NYT.

    Just watched the Wolf of Wall Street. For me, it was a very interesting film. Maybe it took a while to kick off, but it was very interesting regardless.
