    Gold Coast could afford to give up their first (even though that'd be way overs) seeing as they've got Jack Martin coming through.

    Could bundle their second with something or send their first to Collingwood for Shaw + ...

    Tbh I think that Shaw would be a worthwhile risk for the Suns. While he may have some issues, he has the experience that would greatly aid the teams development. We saw this year what potential the Suns have. Someone like Shaw would help take them to the next level IMO.

    Yeah, I agree.

    I was really excited when I first heard the Heath Shaw trade talk. However, I think that any potential move would have to come with some pretty strict good behavior clauses. If he cleans up his act, it could be a masterstroke. If he doesn't, it could turn out to be another Brendan Fevola -> Brisbane Lions situation.

    I think Mousey hit the nail on the head. Draft picks are an important part of team development. Any deal struck between the Suns and Collingwood would be a risk.

    The whole Heath Shaw being a fuckhead thing is so over-blown. Off-field he's been just like any other player and on-field he's had a blow up every now and then. Take away the Monfries incident and he'd be at Collingwood next year.

    Yeah definitely. There's a risk in trading for any player.

    I highly, highly doubt that Shaw will get sacked by his next club. He's not that bad off the field, nowhere near as bad as Dusty, Buddy etc.

    Trading your second pick for him is almost no risk, trading your first is isn't a massive risk either. You've already got Martin coming through to debut this year and you've got plenty of young talent already. Shaw fits the Suns gamestyle so, so well too.
    Hard to believe given he was younger then Didak, Tarrant, Swan, Johnson and his brother.

    But yeah, given he won't be with them at GC you can assume his behaviour will improve.

    Sounds more believable. He seems like a rascal. Loves a joke but loves the attention too.

    They'll know what he's like though. Danny Stanley and Josh Fraser (think he coaches there) both played with him back at the Pies.

    Us wanting a 30yo key forward makes no sense, I actually think it would be a step back for us if we did even consider him. Especially since we've been strongly linked to Hampson and Chapman.

    But I've always dreamed of watching the Riewoldt boys play together.
