Am I the only one that thinks branding to tap into the vital West Sydney market isn't a bad thing. That said I do love tradition and wouldn't cop them removing South Sydney from our name so maybe I'm being hypocritical.

I'm fine with everything but the dropping of Penrith.

I don't give a rats ass about the name not being in the logo, but really fucking hate the logo. We already have shit jerseys, now we have a shit logo to go with it...

I don't see what the big fuss about the 'Penrith' not being included in the logo. On paper, the club is still the Penrith Panthers. That's all that matters tbh. I think that Benny has hit the nail on the head. It makes sense for a club that's rebuilding to change things and a different logo is a logically extension of that process.

At least they still play in Penrith and the majority of people who live in Penrith support Penrith.

I agree the dropping of the name is a little dire but they're still and always will be a Penrith based and run club which is far more important imo.

Haha, they've taken their pink thing a step further. Are they going to add it to their official colours?

What are the Penrith official colours now?

Black, teal, red, yellow, pink, brown, white, green

I think their official colours at the moment are just black and teal.

I'd be so incredibly positive about 2014 for the pandas had we have held on to Masoe, Coote and Walsh. Given we've lost them for Kite, Soward and Wallace I'm a bit reluctant to get my hopes too high.

Kite strikes me as a good club man which seems to be something Gould is really pushing for, he also still seems to have a bit left in the tank. Hoping Wallace will find something once he gets back to Penrith, he never wanted to leave iirc. Really my main problem is Soward, I'm sure we would've paid overs for him bit and I can't see him fixing any of Walsh's short comings in the halves, reckon he's a step backwards.

Have liked the look of Kev at the back for Fiji in the cup though from what I've seen though, will be a handy pick up hopefully. Will let Moylan go into the halves as well if Wal and Soward fail.

Yeah I could understand shaking up the halves a bit and making one signing, but one of either Walsh/Coote should've been retained and one of either Soward/Wallace shouldn't have. You seem to favour keeping Walsh and signing Wallace while I'd probably go the complete opposite and keep Coote + sign Soward, but I agree vaguely in principle.

  17. Julian BJ Taylor

Well you've signed 2 Origin halves. They're also the two shittest halves ever to play Origin for NSW. By a long fucking way too.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

    lol nah they're really not.

  19. Julian BJ Taylor

    of course they are.

In an ideal world I'd've kept coote and Walsh, they never really got a proper crack together in the halves and I thought there was real potential there. I'm not as against the Wallace/coote switch as they're very different players, so at least there could be some tactical move at play, they're also both local juniors which holds some sway with me.

As for the Soward/Walsh swap it strikes me as totally unnecessary, Soward will command a bigger pay cheque and bring a similar style to that off Walsh in the way of a kick heavy game and a reluctance to run. I actually think Walsh has superior footwork to Soward with the ball in hand, especially at forwards in the middle of field. I also think Walsh has had it a bit tough with Penrith sides playing around him, he seemed to find a bit of confidence at the back end of last season and could've really flourished with the squad improvements in 2014.

Oh and I also don't like Soward.
