Best players IMO were QLD: Slater, Scott, Shillington, Myles and Thaiday. NSW: Gallen, Bird and TLL. Ennis and Pearnice were kinda shitty.
Gordon was really good. In fact I've never seen Brett Morris play as well in Origin as Gordon did tonight. For starters, Gordon actually has fingers as opposed to ice lolly sticks on the end of his hands.
15. Tom Learoyd-Lahrs 9 (68m) That can't be right. He looked like he was absolutely raping them out there. Also, re: Gordon. I thought he was solid, ran hard in attack and didn't give up too much in defence.
You can't go just by stats. We all saw that his runs were huge and lifted the side, so he was good no matter what his stats say.
1. Hayne 2. Morris 3. Jennings 4. Scott (Maybe Lyon) 5. Gordon 6. ....Tough one, would have to see who is playing well in '11 7. Pearce (Walsh > him though, but everyone wants loyaltly to build confidence where possible) 8. King 9. Ennis (definitely not Farah) 10. Snowden 11. Bird 12. Gallen 13. Lewis 14. Mannah 15. Watmough 16. TLL (made some good hard runs tonight) 17. Not Gidley Game 1, 2011, IMO.
Yeah, I do agree that his runs were huge, but I could have sworn he was making about 10 metres a run.
I actually thought Mannah was better than all our other props while he was out there. He was out there for such a short period though... I guess Bellamy just told him to really rip in because he was only going to play 10 minutes or something, it would make it easier to bend the line if you knew that.
Meh. I didn't think Gordon was outstanding. I was also a little disappointed with Jennings. He didn't do as well as I was hoping, maybe I was a little too expectant of him since I rate him highly. Morris had an off game, he's still a great finisher and deserves to be there.
What a load of shit, Pearce wasn't awesome but did nothing wrong and directed us well especially when Gidley was on. Maybe he shouldn't have been selected from the start but that's irrelevant now NSW need to stick with him. He was shit, the **** plays for himself and not the team. After he gives away the penalty that leads to the Slater try the next set he rushes out of the line to try and get revenge on Shillo... they make a line break and we're in poor field position despite only needing one point to win. They then go on to get a repeat set. We looked so much better with Gidley on the field... Why? You couldn't ask any more from your winger... could've had two tries with another centre inside him and then everyone would be calling him a legend. Gidley was awesome playing dummy half, never rated him there before this game tbh. All the Hayne haters have gone into hiding...
Snowden dissapointed me a bit. He didn't get much of a go in the first spell because we were defending most of the time. Made an error that can be put down to experience. Struggled with the pace at times, expected in your debut though. Definitely should be there for next year though.
Not realy, I commented how stupid his kick on that bomb was, and he made two or three good runs, and blew one of them... He was alright, not outstanding or anything. He needs to put decent games together, 1 game doesn't make a series.
I still hate Hayne and didn't think he has a brilliant game. Had a few good plays but did a lot of things wrong as well.
Pearce played a supporting role to Barrett. It was pretty evident that Barrett was told to/wanted to control the game, every play went through him. Pearce did a good job in stepping back and just supporting, instead of getting in the way. But since Barrett wont be there next season, Pearce will need to stand up.
