    The part at 1.35 is just world class defence. First he picks up and smashes Fitzgibbon and then when Buderus looks to get on the front foot with a quick dart, he drags him down before he cuts us through the middle, and even turns him round so he's facing his own goal line, thereby slowing down the play-the-ball. Such an unappreciated art. The shots on Gallen are textbook. To do an inside out drive like that is so hard to pull off. And of course busting the ball out when NSW were on the attack. He was brutal that night. Probably his best origin game.

    Looks like there may have been some white anting regarding Henry's departure. Apparently the Cowboys knew about Henry's future before even he did. If so thats a dog act on the clubs part whoever was in on it.

    Ray Thompson should be the starting hooker. Fai Fai Loa's heading elsewhere I'm pretty sure too. I saw some article about it but I can't remember where to.

    The commentators, Ben Ikin particularly, have gone way over the top about Thompson's improvement during the Cowboys late surge, but he's been the best of the Cowboys hookers this season IMO. Best of a poor bunch but the best all the same.

    I like Kostjasyn as a bench player. He's basically a reserve grade halfback in terms of skill and physicality but he's got a lot of heart and determination. He's spent some time playing lock this season which I never thought he'd be capable of in first grade but even though he gets gets belted sometimes he doesn't mind taking runs up the guts at all, and obviously his footwork and organising skills help as a middle third option. This is especially true given the Cowboys pick two halves who are more comfortable at second receiver. Obviously his main role is as a relief hooker but it's his ability to contribute to the side in other ways that makes him a useful player; as a straight hooker he's really not very good.

    It's really hard to fathom why they let Segeyaro go and instead hung onto the likes of Thompson, Mitchell and Kostjasyn ?

    The latter are pretty ordinary ...

    Definitely think Kostjasyn is better than Thompson. The latter's service is horrendous at times. He's also an inferior defender.

    Read something about how they had Ballin lined up. He wanted/wants to come back and play for a QLD club. Would've been awesome. Him and Cherry-Evans at the Cows/Broncs and I would've jizzed all over my computer.

    Don't know a whole lot about him as a coach tbh. Not sure anyone does.

    I think it's strange that he's only coached Under 20's & QLD Cup yet been given the head job at Nth Qld. Might be a little premature.

    Lot of Cows fans seem so highly keen on this guy to be the coach. I for some reason chose to be cautious about it seeing as he hasn't coached at top level. I would rather see how they go after the first month or so next year before deciding he was a good choice.
