    Needed one to keep related Cowboys news.
    With Thurston gone who will the halves be, maybe as Maroon Faithful said give Anthony Watts a run with Thompson??

    Paynes injured too though and awta, I havent liked what Rovelli has provided so far this season, if they do pick him he is seriously gonna have to step it up.

    Was an idea I thought of but Rob made a good point Bowen will be a defensive liability in the halves.

    If anything they should give one of their under 20's a go or have a look at the Northen Pride, have a few decent halfs tbh.

    Yeah I much prefer the idea of them bringing in younger players, give them some first grade experience.
    Smart of them if they retain Thompson who wasnt great last night but its only his second game.

    Yeah, Thompson is a solid defender - much better option than Rovelli even if he doesnt play that great.

    If the forward pack doesnt end up with a great deal of injuries and the only real serious injury is Thurston then I dont see why the Cowboys couldnt win a fair few games, seems when Thurston was out there they relied on him to do everything.
    When he left the field the Cowboys seemed to work better defensively, lifted quite a bit.
    They will be favourites for the spoon but I think the Cowboys will do better then people think.

    Cowboys played better without Thurston on the field tbh last night. Looked much more of a threat with Thompson and Watts/Payne doing the bulk of the work.

    Rovelli really only had one very bad game against the Drags. He's been okay-ish this season and last, and scored IIRC in his last NSW cup match.

    I think Gallant's earned his spot at the back, and Bowen's gonna slot in at 6 if Thurston's gone.

    Would be the best side i'm picking, obviously with Payne out. I'd say he is, because he's been playing fair shit this season
