Coach gives players direction. Players don't preform, ultimately it comes back to the coach. I think having an average coach without a clear and tangible game plan results in under-performance.

What makes that different to last season though?

Better compared to the garbage your side has been dishing up for most of this year. Only a miracle saved you from a loss to the Eels at home. You couldn't beat the Roosters. Even under Georgallis your side is still a ghost of itself.

With the personnel Penrith have, they really ought to be well entrenched in the top 8.

We didn't have structure last season. Ultimately we'd get it up into the oppositions half and our only attacking set play was to kick for Coote.

Tbh, I agree with you. However you can't hope for instant improvement from a new coach taking over halfway through the season. We're showing steady signs and i'm okay with that. Unfortunately the damage has been done this season.

    Still is, tbf. :p

I'd like to see the number of games Penrith have won over the post two seasons with Coote at the back compared to games we've had Gordon at the back, reckon it'd stack up real good for Cootey

Without a doubt. With Walsh in the halves, he is a fairly regular fixture on the score sheet.

Penrith won't even make the 8.

4th best defense in the comp....

  11. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

    Two things...

Firstly, what makes you think we have the fourth best defence in the comp? Some arbitrary number like points conceded is hardly convincing.

And secondly, even if that number was a true reflection of our standing, it goes no way to determining whether our defence is good enough - There could be an enormous gap, which there is incidentally, between the top side and the fourth strongest, supposedly us.

    2006 For 497 Against 392 after 24 rounds Average points against 16.3
    2011 For 338 Against 268 After 17 Rounds Average points against 15.7

    Stiz 10 - MF 8

Did you actually read what I wrote? What part of "your shitty statistics don't prove anything" did you not understand?

This isn't 2006. If you think Melbourne and St. George are no better now than what they were in 2006, then you're obviously deluded. Our defence isn't even half as good as St. George's.

You have no authoritar here. Brisbane is involved. Hush little one.

Only players who win their positions are Slater, Duffie, Cronk and Smith. (As Slater, Cronk and Smith have improved...Geyer's shit so Duffie wins). Widdop is pretty much as good (in the setup) as Hill already.
