Will do, will do. The lack of backwards compatibility really shits me, it's just a hassle that isn't needed. But yeah, kind of holding back on buying anything...except The Last of Us because I've been keen on it for ages. I've been replaying the old classics such as Fallout 3 and Skyrim instead of buying new titles. Actually thinking about switching to the Xbox720 as it should be released around the same time.
Sony may surprise us and have some other sort of way to play our PS3 games on the PS4. Although no doubt it'd involve money. It's actually quite easy for you to switch to the 720 with PS4 unable to play PS3. No matter if you get either the PS3 games go to waste. If it was able to play PS3 games then the 720 would be impractical and really probably not an option on the list. Either way you have to start up a new collection of games. Sony's fucked up imo.
Pretty much. If they make you pay to play PS3 games than it's even more fucked. I'll just buy a 720, use the money I would've used paying for backwards compatibility to pay for live and keep my PS3 on hand if I get nostalgic. I can see things changing a million times with both consoles before release though, so I guess it's all just fanboy speculation at this point. I assume the 720 will cost quite a bit more though and knowing myself I'll eventually get tired of waiting for prices to drop and cave.
that game looks pretty sick from what i've seen, might get it. i have played all of them but tomb raider. far cry is awesome, so addicting, can play for hours on end (i've played about half of the story i think) hitman is gun, one of my fave games, but i've not a played a hitman game before so other might not agree with me. i love max payne too, same thing ^ i have sleeping dogs too, it's okay i suppose, it's my least fave out of the games on that list, very button mashy though. hope that helps dude.
Yeah thanks. I've sort of narrowed it down to either Tomb Raider of Far Cry 3. Followed closely by Max Payne 3. It's really tough, I always said I'd get Far Cry 3 eventually (and probably still will) but Tomb Raider looks so good too.
Do you like a... FPS RPG set in an open world island with modern day pirates that has an interesting story with good missions but very little more after that? Action-adventure platformer with elements of a bit of everything? Stealth action game with really detailed but small levels that tries to tell a story at the cost of gameplay? Third person CoD reskin with lots of cutscenes? GTA like experience with less focus on guns and more on melee combat?
Don't think any of them, other than Max Payne, are bad games. Just not as great as people hype them up to be.
I don't think it's that bad. It's definitely gone in a direction that takes a lot away from what made the previous games great, but what's left isn't terrible. It's just different and doesn't know what it wants to be.
Supposedly the first release of the PS4 won't have backwards compatibility, but the next release will.
I really doubt that would happen tbh. Next best case scenario, but just as unlikely, is that there will be a way to redeem digital versions of the games if you already owned a copy.
