Welker? Well the bonus to losing in the first round will be better able to prepare for my doubles games. >_>
Made it, close affair, though. Looks like most games went with the serve. Need rest to take the next match against the #6.
Singles: First Round - Top Half The top half of this season's Australian Open gave barely anything other than straight set victories, but the results of the couple of matches that weren't gave some surprises. Shock #1 of the day was third seed Alex O'Driscoll losing in four sets to Rob Cribb. The Australian heat clearly got to O'Driscoll in the first set, winning only one game, but a few ice packs applied in various places helped the Australian to take the second to a tiebreak. The promising comeback was underway, but he lost the tiebreak. O'Driscoll carried on his momentum however, and took the third set with ease, playing some classy shots. However it looked like too little too late as Cribb came and put the game to bed in his first main draw match of his career. The other seed to lose today was O'Driscoll's opponent in last week's final, Oscar Wood. He too went down in four sets to South African Os du Toit. All of the other results today were won in straight sets, the worst of which was when Jono Chewie took little over an hour for a comprehensive victory over Benny Read.
