Douglas and Myles won't aid their troubles at all. Idris and Champion will improve the team but it means fuck all without a five-eighth fullback combo.
just need to pick someone and keep them there tbh. Had Preston, Capewell, Zillman, Bird all play 5/8th. Zillman looked most settled, and then after a flat game, got moved.

1. 2. Gordon 3. Champion 4. Idris 5. Mead 6. 7. Prince 8. Bailey 9. Srama 10. Douglas 11. Bird 12. Myles 13. Harrison 14. Minichiello (hopefully) 15. James 16. Tagatese 17. Page Rapana due back - Rapana --> 5, Mead to Fullback IMO
Good win. Was sloppy at times but was a good enough game to put a smile on my face. Petero is a deadset legend, exceeding 150 metres once again. Burns played well and Walsh is really starting to show that he is one of the top halves in the competition especially now that he has a little more variety in his game. Also, a mention to Kevin Kingston. He is starting to become a bit of a workhorse and is catching up to a number of other hookers. Made 41 tackles and missed 0, a good effort considering his figure were similar on Monday night.
Yeah, Penrith went downhill in the second half but it doesn't worry me much. They were still better than Souffs.
Yeah their spine has to be the worst in the comp. No regular fullback and 5/8th, a halfback who's past-it and a rookie hooker.
I don't know if Prince is past it. He's declined a little but he's still one of the best halves in the comp. I'm sure he'd be a lot more effective if he had regular creative support from the rest of the spine tbh.
He's not past it but his running game is almost non-existent. He desperately needs a gun running five-eighth. There aren't many around that aren't snapped up but he needs someone who can create/score points even if they're inconsistent. Ben Roberts would have been a good signing. Out of the players who aren't regulars i reckon Ben Rogers would probably combine well with him. I'm not sure where Zillman fits into the Gold Coast set up either.
