Dorn the big shock for me. He only made the trial match as a filler but he finds his way into the Test squad. Probably won't play, but a couple of injuries and you never know.
Yeah not exactly confident I can keep class like that out. Still nice to snatch a Test cap when you get hold of it.
I think it is a really good thing that you have played so well coming into the lead up though. I think centre is essentially where the comp seems to be weakest, and me and Gazza have felt like we were pretty much the only true centres really up to Test standard (at least that's what it felt like to me) A bit of competition for the spots is always a good thing.
Yeah, mainly as Paddy has fallen off a bit - and Graham and Golding are inactive. Otherwise, Centre would be keenly contested. If Fiery was an out-and-out centre rather than a Utility, I reckon he'd be in the top three at the moment.
Yeah long term I am sure that we will find a few guys who will start coming back in to contention for spots, and it would be good to have Golding and Graham back...
Well, I don't really see the competition coming. Heads will be good, but otherwise we're looking at playing Eds, Alessi or Fiery in the Centres instead. No clear young talent coming through.
Well we play one true centre at the Vikings. Not sure what other teams are doing but it sounds like they might be doing similar things. Either playing utility outside backs or playing utility halves in the centres.
Yeah, Spartans have been playing Fiery/Alessi alongside Paddy. Sharks have had Green and Graham. Crabs have had Somerset and Heads. Gamblers have had Ged and Vago. Hurricanes have had Weaver and Kazzaa. The only legit centres in there who are current options or ever going to be options are Graham, Weaver, Heads, Paddy and yourself.
