Keen to take these up to 16-18 and injuries ftw.

Yeah I think that would be a good idea. Brings more tactics and realism to it.

So long as we can keep current squads and maybe negotiate trades and stuff I don't mind, liking my squad TBH.

  4. Farny AP Farnsworth

At the moment, I have no tactical options whatsoever, so bigger squads FTW.

@ CCG You'll have to release some tbh. Probably more than half.

More than half. But like we've bonded, and sponsors wont be happy.

Nicorette will breathe a sigh of release that you released Warnie.

    More of a gasp apparently.

Why? I'm pretty sure some of us have compiled squads that we're happy with and don't want to change. I'd be willing to let go of 3/4 max TBH, otherwise I'd probably lose interest in doing it again as I like the squad I've grabbed. If you did it this way you could make it like an NFL draft kinda, give us a draft list and available players and we pick them from there to suit our needs. Then have another draft to select players who hadn't been picked at all.

Makes expansion nigh on impossible if we only give new teams the absolute dregs to pick from.

Plus it gives those that made bad picks first time around no chance of recovering. I think that 5 or 6 is the optimal number to keep. Perhaps we could bring in a rule that every team must get rid of one of their top players to give the new teams a chance.
So we make it so that every time must keep only 5 picks but two of the players that you get rid of must be from your first 5 draft picks. Otherwise these new teams are gonna be devoid of stars.
This would also allow be to get rid of Ishit **** Sharma.

Mmm...my interest in doing a 2nd season wanes significantly if I'm not keeping my squad TBH. I'd only be willing to chop a handful of players. Only way of compromise would be to change the way the tournament works and make it like a premiership system, so new teams go into a 2nd/3rd division and its all ranked, but TBF I doubt anyone's interested in that cos it might allow me to keep my current team. I see where you are coming from and totally understand it but, and as bad as it sounds, I don't care if new teams who came in got given dregs to pick from, I like my team :p

Well you can pick them all again then. Keep the ones you think that will go early. Swann, Strauss, Amla... and then pick up the others in the draft.

Well you got your team for the season. There's no point just doing the same thing over and over and over and over again - we need to change things for the second season to make it worthwhile having one.

The draft's three quarters of the fun imo. I'd seriously be willing to start from scratch again, and it's not like I've got a shit **** team.
Anyway, I seriously reckon that keeping up to 5 is the go but you must release at least one if not two of your top 4 or 5 picks to give the new teams half a chance.

Another question is, will all the simming averages get updated? If so, some teams are going to be affected a lot more than others by picking retirees.

  17. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I reckon keeping 3 or 4 is the go.

  18. Baxter MJ Deane

They'd have to be IMO. Should be kept up to date, rather than keep picking based on form from 2009 or whatever.

Should also be based on real life performances rather than CPL (obvz) :p

  19. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah, otherwise we'll still be going by 2009 when Season 24 rolls around in 2015. It'd just be stupid.

  20. Eds E Ames

For that to work surely we'd need to start from scratch.
