Southern hemisphere rugby is a shocking standard

Aight mate. But at that time Slade was showing why he should be #2 the fact we didn't have a clear cut #2 makes it difficult to say who's going to preform better. We had 3 possible #2s all with there positives and negatives, but Henry thought Slade would be the best bet to backup Carter if things did go wrong, which they did.

At the end of the day we still ended up winning the WC with our 4th choice flyhalf on at FT.

FTR, Nick Evans was, at the time, the second best NZ qualified 10. Just sayin.

I'm no expert, but you'd have to say Wales are the strongest at present (pretty derr after the 6N) and if anything look as though they'll only get stronger if anything in the next 1-2 years.

  4. Mike ML Martyn

Yeah, but Evans wasn't eligible to be picked at that time. He's still the second best and better than anything England has at the moment.

He couldn't play for NZ. He was ineligible.

They seem a bit one dimensional to me, the use their power to grind down the opposition, eventually punching a hole and playing quick ball off that. When they come up against sides who will match them physically they looked for more at sea.

Watch the England game, Barritt and Tuilagi nullified their huge backline with some top defence.

I think they have the potential to develop into a scary side, but they need to find another gear first.

Yeah, I think that Wales have been slightly overhyped. Obviously they're a very good side, and with their youth they're only going to get better. I do think that teams will learn to deal with their backline much more effectively though, and I think that England are only VERY slightly behind them right now, even with a far less experienced side.

Yeh exactly, teams will be set up so when the bring the likes of North Roberts and Cuthbert through the middle they will be able to effectively stop them.

Plus we had some players missing for the tournament, Wood and Lawes in the pack make a big difference, Dowson is a good player but he isn't in Wood's class. Lawes adds another big ball carrier to the pack which we are lacking ATM.

Another thing in our favour is the quality of the youngsters coming through at the minute. We have some serious talent aged 19-21 all starting to make waves. CBA to list them all though.

    DWTA.

DWTA. England has fuck all good players. Evans shits all over all you're firsts fives. I'd even argue that Donald is >> English FHs.

  11. Farny AP Farnsworth

Lawes is a biggie, but as much as I rate Wood, I don't actually think he'd make the England side right now. Croft has been on fire.

    DWTA. Go away.

Go Away... because my opinion isn't vital to making a discussion possible. Just beacuse you wanted to hear everyone say that Wilkson is better than Evans in reality that's not even possible, we all know Evans is a class above anything England currently have.

  13. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

The fact you think Wilkinson is England's best FH shows you know fuck all

  14. Eds E Ames

    Haha AWTA.

  15. Luffers JRE Luffman

    What a shit opinion.

    1. Wilkinson is not our best fly-half anymore (never mind the fact he's retired)

    2. What point are you trying to make Evans? The only reason he doesn't have 70 odd caps to his name is a certain Dan Carter, who is one of the greatest of all time. Evans is pure class. He'd get into the English team the Welsh team the Scottish team the Irish team the French team and the SA team.

So by your logic do all of these teams have no good players? Fuck off unless you have something constructive and interesting to say.

Haha, couldn't have put it better. Go away, come back when you're better informed.

Name me a fly half in England that is a better play than Nick Evans.
