Southern hemisphere rugby is a shocking standard

France outplay NZ in a World Cup final on their own soil, yet they're only the 4th best team in Europe. Says it all really.

Are England ahead of France? If so, that just shows the rankings are wrong. Wales should have been in the WC final if they'd been able to keep 15 players on the field etc. etc.

    Poor bait, Farny.

Agreed, try prawns or squid next time. :troll:

NZ team is going to just go from strength to strength, some of the young players coming through are probably already better then some of our allblacks last season.

Well TBF England outplayed Wales in the 6N's, lost due to an abysmal ref and a freak lucky try. Then we beat the French in France with a very assured performance before beating the Irish 30-9. 20 points more than the Welsh managed.

I don't see why we shouldn't be ahead of the french. We won the last 6N's and came second in this one.

Well, your performance at the World Cup was atrocious, to be fair. Probably the worst showing from an England team that I can remember. Fair play if you've moved on from that, but I thought the World Cup counted to rankings and the progression of France to the final would be worth considerably more ranking points or whatever.

It most probably is, but they were behind before the world cup, and now they have finished 4th in the 6N's. I think it goes:

    NZ
    SA
    AUS
    ENG
    WAL
    FRA
    IRE

    I'd say it should be

    NZ

    SA
    WAL
    AUS
    ENG
    FRA
    IRE

The NZ are the best, no question. SA are still a very strong side but in all honesty I think that on their day, any one of the top sides could beat each other.

Pretty much agree with everything Luffers has said.

So, Farny was wrong? France are 3rd team in Europe?

To be fair, France were atrocious at the World Cup during the group stages. Typical of their mercurial nature that they pulled a decent game out of their jacksie in the final.

Yeah I agree as well but I think we'd be ahead of Wales slightly.

All Blacks will definitely miss Kaino.

No way in hell. I think that opinion might be formed a bit on past results and ideals rather than the current sides/performance.

  13. Mike ML Martyn

Without Daniel Carter tbf. He makes our team so much better.

    Pretty sure 8 >7

Awta. We had a tough time getting through the WC without the most vital player in the most vital position and not only that we lost Slade who was trained to backup DC if something did happen in the WC then we lost him aswell and the structure we started building had to be build from scratch again as DC/Slade and Cruden all play different styles of game.

Pool games shows who's the better skilled team. Finals shows who's better mentally. We were shithouse mentally and still managed to win, what a team.

  17. Rego RS Hutchinson

Slade's shit, I had an argument with a few people that Cruden should have been picked ahead of him. If he had played in the final I still stand behind my belief that we would have lost.

I'm still amazed that the All Blacks managed to win a World Cup.

I think that the Six Nations is a better indicator of how the teams in Europe stack up against each other than the IRB world rankings are. If you disagree with that, then you could say that I'm wrong I suppose.
