Soccer sub-forum

I started this push on the old CricSim, and I want to start it again.

The "Other Sports" section is too broad. It's getting bogged up with various threads about soccer. IMO, a seperate soccer sub-forum for discussion is necessary, especially given the rising number of soccer fans that are coming to CricSim by the day.

Since this was last discussed, I have confidence in stating the number of soccer fans here was risen by 10% at the very least. A soccer sub-forum is necessary because if this rate of growth continues, the "Other Sports" section will be completely flooded with Soccer threads (all of which are necessary and are fully engaged in comprehensive discussion).

State your support here for a seperate soccer discussion sub-forum, just like the one for Rugby League discussion.

agreed, everything gets lost in other sport

Other Sport is pretty much a soccer subforum. Don't see how anything can get lost there.

I think there is quite a bit of talk about football but dont think it needs its own subbie.

    It is FOOTBALL not SOCCER!

Yh for the record its gotta be called football atleast:p

As a football fan myself i'd love to see it happening.:)

Adding to that, I'm actually for there being a soccer forum (as long as I can remove my access from it <.<).

I'm for a soccer sub-forum just to shit those that want me to call it football despite it being soccer.

  8. Cribbage RG Cribb

If we had a football forum and it was called "Football", I'd post rugby union, rugby league, Aussie Rules, American football and Gaelic football articles in there just on principle tbh...

  9. Gonzo JP Gonzalez

    It IS Football.

Soccer is so Americain... Football was football first :ninja:

    I think it's worth it.

Well I always confuse with this, Football = Soccer?

yeah its just americans and australians have other sports that they call football that are more popular (granted these sports tend to have little if anything to do with feet meeting the ball, but still) so its easier to call them league and union and aussie rules and grid iron and soccer, because it distinguishes between codes

But I never understood, rugby/madden/soccer :S. I know only one football and its the one which i play, that is the one where if the ball meets the hand you will be penalized, weird that some play football with hands involved.

agreed, quite foolish really but i think it is only that way because union was people playing football and then they picked up the ball and changed the rules slowly, then leauge split from that, then the americans di there freaky little thing with it and it became grid iron, and the irish did there bit and created celtic football, and then the australians saw celtic football and some indigenous games and went for aussie rules, its all the same name cause it all comes from the same game

Look, I know it's called football, but people would complain and it would cause mass confusion.

If it is possible to get a sub-forum for the sport going (the support shown here in this thread only accentuates the need), then it should be called soccer.

If we get a soccer one, we'll need and cricket one and an AFL one. So I would leave it.

  17. Snake A Vago

I had no idea madden was a sport?

I agree with Hybrid. Get all that soccer s*** out of the 'Other Sports' section, and into it's own gay section.

Cribb already said no to the cricket one because we would be in direct conflict with CricketWeb.

As for AFL... well, it's plainly obvious which has more supporters here on CricSim. Threads about soccer outnumber threads about AFL five to one and have triple the amount of views and posts.
