Ah, I was at a 30th watching on the phone, I thought it was a bunker call.

    Na. Fuck it. I'm graspin'.

    Broncs robbed!

It only got referred to see if he should be reported but yeah the pocket ref called it straight away. Correct call imo.

Na, I wouldn't be putting much blame on Sam and Opacic when Milf has such a record of having no clue how to defend in the front line.

And Cows abuse it better than any other side. It's cost us every game vs Cows since he arrived and been close to costing our past 2 wins against them. In every game sealing/swinging try, the common denominator is Milf. As Magic alluded to, it's so clear what he does. He defends infield too far. Broncos left centre is the toughest gig in Rugby League. Drawing on my small-man syndrome; I have always a good defnder in footy. I've played Centre, wing, edge forward in league, inside/outside centre in Union, inside/outside link in rep Touch and Oztag. I know what it is to have a weak/clueless defender inside you. You instinctively cannot trust them. You shut down that many plays ran at the poor defender you cant help but become accustomed to defending 2-3 players in numerous instances. However the odd break/try is bound to leak through, but the alternative would be far worse. Milf just needs to change the way he defends long enough for his outside player to trust him.

Worthy of a penalty, not report however.

Just a fucked way to cost such a game.

Just keep finding ways to lose against them and they keep fonding ways to win.

Fucking awesome games to watch however. No other clash gets the adrenaline punping.

Yeah Jaz got it. It's the lack of trust in Milford. He's not just a piss poor defender himself. He makes the players around him poorer defenders too. That being said, I agree with Cribb that Thaiday is in no way suited to being a minder for Milford like Carroll used to be for Lockyer.

Lockyer wasn't bad positionally though. He was just a slight bloke on the edge of the ruck who happenes to be the guy who steered the Broncs around, so naturally you run traffic ar him.

    Milf is just shit.

It's true that Milford defends further in-field than most halves, but I wouldn't be so quick to say this is bad decision-making on his part or even because he's more concerned about making one-on-one tackles than other halves. They're all concerned about it -- even if they're good defenders, coaches don't want them wearing themselves out doing that so they have their second rowers cover for them. I think Milford's positioning has a lot to do with Thaiday not being able to cover as much ground as most other second rowers.

Naturally. Lockyer was still a shitty front line defender as well though.

    Legends.

Can't help but think Parker has at least 2 more seasons in him however. Pretty fucked thinking I won't see him play again for us.

He made life easier for his minders however because he'd at least make correct decisions or put some contact on which would produce a predictable outcome for his inside and outside defenders. Milf's contact can be surprising. He really just needs to run inside/outside 4 on 4s at training for a few months in the pre season, a swap in sides might even help him if it's a habit. Drifting out is far better than drifting in when defending 3 from the flank.

I dont know about that. He may have been carrying an injury but there was a noticeable deterioration this year in his play.

I think the role he played is a really hard one to stay valuable in once you loose a bit of that physical power.
