But in terms of Rugby a Ball Winning Flanker does not play #6 I am sorry.

    We shall see.

  12. Doog J McDougal

Good 6s are capable of winning the ball...

Only a selected few internationally. Also depending in International if they are playing Left and Right.

Yeah also we only have ball-winning flankers in our squad, so I put our best one at 7 tbh.

Tight that you aren't playing 15 IMHO, you've performed better in the tests and the ratings show that, should've had the chance I reckon first up as a result.

Also in regards to 6 being a ballwinner, it's arguable. In terms of backrow roles, no. 6 is expected to work harder in defence for making tackles (Moody is arguably a 6 but just wears 7) and also hit the breakdown, but having a larger part to play in attack in regards to running the ball, 7 is expected to be the first to the breakdown to win the ball as well as linking in with the backs (alas why McCaw is so highly rated) and 8 generally does sweeping work, is more involved in attack in order to link the backs and forwards (South African 8s are good examples of this). At least that's how my take on the back row positions is, so say what you will. Basically my thought between 6 and 7 is that 6's are generally bigger and there to make more tackles/run the ball up like Rocky Elsom, and 7s are there to hit the breakdowns and link up with the backs like McCaw, Lipman (when he used to be at Bath), Rees and most other decent 7s.
