In my memory Horne had fallen almost over on the Aussie side, though. Don't you have to be behind the last foot of your team-mate in the ruck to be onside?
Get up SH! Although Scotland seem to be unlucky. Australia just aren't the same beast without Pocock.
Why was everyone so sure Wallabie would win? Hadn't Scotland beaten us 2 of the last 3 times and we had our best two players out?
That penalty call was certainly wrong. The ball seemed to clearly come back off Phipps and if you look at Joubert he only gives the penalty after we actually appealed for it. In saying that, you just can't put yourself in the position when a bad call can cost you the game.
Scotland were last in the Six Nations and hadn't looked very good in pool play. When Scotland won at Newcastle, it was a very experimental team.
I can't confess to being that knowledgeable about rugby, but from speaking to a lot of guys who are, I think there has been a feeling in Scotland that there has been a hell of a lot of progression and really turning that into more positive on field results was really just around the corner. Hopefully a match like this can inspire things to really kick on now and we can actually start doing something in the 6 nations and stop being spoon chasers.
ARGENTINA! How fucking good was Fernandez Lobbe to set up those tries with that massive miss pass, and offload. And Creevy trying the behind the back Carter offloads But seriously, how far have Argentina come in the past 4 years. Hell, even at the last world cup I always felt their backline were just there to make up the numbers.
I thought I was starting to get an understanding on penalties at the scrum in Union but I was positive I saw a Scottish player just fall down in the middle of the scrum and the just ref re-packed it.
It instantly reminded me of the Shaun Kenny-Dowall intercept pass 60 seconds into the Broncos/Roosters NRL semi final.

Guys from the tight 5 always play that row of a link between the halfback and first five (any guy in the second attacking line) in modern rugby.
Australia were fuck-tonnes better but were just pretty scrappy and not switched on IMO. Tries from intercepts and charge downs etc etc.
