This match begins 5.30 Saturday and so far this much is shaping up to either be a thriller or a disappointment depending on what players show up on the day. Let the discussion begin. Penrith Panthers: Lachlan Coote, Michael Gordon, Michael Jennings, Adrian Purtell, Brad Tighe, Travis Burns, Luke Walsh, Tim Grant, Kevin Kingston, Petero Civoniceva, Trent Waterhouse, Frank Pritchard, Luke Lewis. Interchange from: Nathan Smith, Matthew Bell, Joseph Paulo, Sam McKendry, Masada Iosefa, Maurice Blair. Wests Tigers: Beau Ryan, Lote Tuqiri, Blake Ayshford, Chris Lawrence, Daniel Fitzhenry, Benji Marshall, Blake Lazarus, Bryce Gibbs, Robbie Farah ©, Keith Galloway, Liam Fulton, Gareth Ellis, Chris Heighington. Interchange from: Junior Moors, Andrew Fifita, Mark Flanagan, Geoff Daniela, Chris Corby, Mitch Brown.
It is going to be great. After last round though out of all honesty I think Penrith will win. If Farah doesn't play Penrith to win by an extra 10 to if he does play. Not having Lui or Moltzen really hurts them.
No, I just wasn't impressed with what I saw of Lazurus. He tried hard but he just didn't show as much as what Lui showed on his debut. Will watch him closer this week.
but > Moltzen Seriously he is the shittest player in the team at the moment, what will it take for him to be dropped ? Maybe Laurie or Plum will be in there soon *Crosses fingers *
Laurie had an absolute shocker in reggies apparently. Plum's the man for the job, I'd even prefer Gavin Cooper or even Iosefa he was playing pretty well but just got squeezed out.
Laurie is so ****ing shite. I'm confident on us winning if: 1. Fitzhenry gets injured in training. 2. Lazarus isn't moved and Farah isn't moved.
Penrith really should win, although with Chris 'Meninga' Lawrence hitting holes off Brett Kenji Marshall there is a chance that the retardation of Purtell defending at centre could result in a Tigers try or two.
Yeah I can confirm. He will still play for us this season but he has had a lot of drop ball during the Reggies. He needs more match fitness before getting anywhere near the First Grade side. Graham has been solid though. I would probably go Plum as well but he is injured at the moment. As for Masada Iosefa, I like him provides heaps off the bench but Kingston is a good 80 minute player and needs to stay there. This year is the first time I can think of that Elliot has only played one hooker by himself for a few games with the exception of last year when Masada was inured.
What?! Penrith's forwards are going to dominate them. Will be a cracker and hopefully we will finish on top. Will be nervous during the game. I won't be providing updates but I am sure Lukic will.
so am I. I really think this game will be all about the forwards. Traditionally over the last few years, Penrith's forwards have been the reason why Penrith have won. I think this is where it will be won. Luke Walsh will keep putting in kicks an hopefully they continually pay off. I reckon Walsh will need to run it a little more and even on the last 20 metres out rather than bombing it or grubbering, he should run it and pass it out to one of his wingers.
