If it wasn't for the sending off, I wouldn't understand why we'd change to a defensive tactic. If you've already let in 3, it's obvious that the opposition can score and that attacking is our strong point, and we'd need to play on that. Going defensive just invites the opposition to attack and could easily lead to them scoring again, with possibly no hope for us to score again.

Yeah I guess. So basically, I don't understand why we'd change to defensive if we're winning. Only seems like a negative tactic and a negative way to play. If they're going to score, I'd much rather they scored on a break after we've applied pressure rather than from us inviting them on.

A lot of teams will go to attacking if they are losing at say 70 minutes. Especially if it is by more than 1 goal. So if you have a lead it could really back fire to continue to play normally if the other team is going for it.
Yeah I guess. I guess I just prefer positive tactics. Maybe rather than just going all out defender, going with a more balanced style OD play would be better IMO.
Yeah this. Don't want to throw away a 1 goal lead by going for a win, and there's really not enough difference between winning by 3 or 4 goals to risk it imo. Yeh time to use him as my sub man instead of Storer I feel. Hope his injury's not too serious though
yea I did, should have kept my mouth shut I think I played quite well apart from the red though. That brought my points down heaps and commentary did say I shouldn't have been given the red... :ninja:
