Ok, if the defender was there ready to intercept it, Marshall would've scored himself since there wouldn't have been anyone in front of him. Hayne only caught them through the faults of others, if Benji doesn't touch the ball, Farah gets it. If Moltzen isn't a cat, he takes it, runs the length of the field and the Tigers are in the finals.
Take it from someone that knows, I would seriously turn it down a few notchs. It's all good and well that you love your team and are a big fan of its key players but you have taken it to far tbh and theres only a certain level of bias that is acceptable IMO and becuase of it you fail to see any resonable argument that counteracts what you think. Learn how to see the other sides opinon, it helps you alot in life.
Mate, saying Lockyer is all class now is bias. He's got nothing, he's still a very good first grade player but should be nowehere near the QLD side nowadays. Marshall is simply better than him. You guys seriously underrated him so, so much it's ridiculous.
If a player never tackled Hayne, he would never have had to kick it. If the Tigers team had all died on the bus coming there, the world would be a better place. All what ifs. The fact is, they happened, and they were signs of class.
See, you dont accept the other side of the argument. Lockyer is undoubted class, he has a great kicking game, awsome vision, awsome creativity and a great passing game. Yes, Benji is a good player but Lockyer has stood the test of time and has shown for a long period of time that he is a awsome, awsome player who deserves all the praise he gets. Broncos would not have been half as succesful for the last 5 years without Lockyer in their side.
If a player never tackled Hayne? lol wut? Get together your sentence construction before you talk about hypotheticals. Also, why can't you admit Benji's flick was class. Why can't you admit all of Benji's 25 try assists last year were class? What about the comeback he staged against Manly, the show he put on against your mob? None of that is class, all fluke? Marshall is the best 5/8th in the game at the moment and only Thurston is better (but he plays 1/2)
Wally Lewis is still class then? Clive Churchill still is? Dally Messenger? Reg Gasnier? Peter Sterling? All still class players? Look, Lockyer's last year of real dominance was 08. Last year was still great but it was the beginning of the end. If you want to consider both sides, you simply have to come to the realisation that Lockyer simply isn't what he was. He's an all time great, a hall of famer so to speak, but his time is up. He's just not as good as Marshall anymore.
Tbh if Wally where to play with players from his generation now, he would carve up still. Instinct, class doesnt die.
You are pulling out random, irrelevant hypotheticals. I was saying that if Hayne had been able to just run to the line, he wouldn't have had to chip it. Aka, a random, irrelevant hyptothetical. I can't admit that because I am realistic, and have a brain, unlike you. Sorry.
They aren't irrelevant hypotheticals. Ok, the Moltzen one can be argued slightly. Regardless, a good fullback would take it. It was a selfish glory hunting play when the smart move would've been kicking it down into the corner. As for the Benji touching it, it's not a hypothetical, it's obvious and it was before your eyes. You're either blind or a moron if you can't tell that Benji touched it straight into Hayne.
