Yeah four props named on the bench and only one named to start; I'd be pretty surprised to see it happen that way even if Fien does play.
I'm suprised Greenfield wasnt picked over Merrin and Green too tbh. But yeah, i think Hunt will start and Prior will come off the bench. We might even move Fien to the bench, Young to hooker, Prior to backrow and Hunt to start.
Thought I heard Fien was in doubt on the radio today. Was probably just the Hornby thing though because I wasn't paying heaps of attention.
Saints lose Cooper for Eels clash GLENN JACKSON March 12, 2010 ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA'S hopes of a seamless build-up to their round-one clash with Parramatta tonight were dashed yesterday when centre Matt Cooper succumbed to a hamstring injury, while captain Ben Hornby was unable to train due to an infected wisdom tooth. While Hornby is expected to play, Cooper will not and is likely to be replaced in the centres by Matt Prior, who was originally named at prop. Hooker Nathan Fien trained at halfback in place of Hornby, while Luke Priddis deputised at hooker. Dan Hunt is likely to start in the front row, with Nick Emmett moving onto the bench. Krisnan Inu will drop off the Eels' five-man bench, leaving the squad 1-17. North Queensland and Brisbane are both expected to be as per the program for their clash at Suncorp Stadium tonight. Cowboy Carl Webb has been ruled out with a slight calf tear. James Tamou also drops out, leaving recruit Willie Mason certain to make his debut for the club. Bulldogs winger Bryson Goodwin is in doubt for his side's clash with Newcastle tomorrow night because of a fractured toe. Junior Tia Kilifi and Heka Nanai are on standby. Knights centre Adam MacDougall is in doubt with a knee injury. Wes Naiqama trained in his place yesterday. Melbourne lock Todd Lowrie remains in doubt to face Cronulla tomorrow with an adductor strain. A final decision will be made on his fitness today. Cronulla are unchanged. Both Penrith and Canberra are expected to be ''1-17'' for their match tomorrow night at CUA Stadium. There was mixed news for the Gold Coast, with Titans co-captain Luke Bailey (knee) and forward Brad Meyers (sternum) cleared to play the Warriors on Sunday after midweek doubts, while Michael Henderson, named on the bench, is out with a toe injury. The Warriors are unchanged. Roosters coach Brian Smith will decide tomorrow who will drop off his five-man bench to play South Sydney on Sunday. Both five-eighth Braith Anasta (ankle) and prop Jason Ryles (quad) trained well yesterday. The Rabbitohs should be 1-17. Wests Tigers winger Lote Tuqiri was predictably tired by the end of his first session with his new club yesterday but remains on track to play Manly on Monday night. The Sea Eagles are as per program.
Well if they play second-row often, chances are they can slot into the centres, even if it wouldn't exactly be ideal. Like Dave Taylor.
