I think he was actually supposed to be playing tight but Watmough was being a bit of a cunt about it. It was weird, they swapped around a lot.
Ben Hunt isn't a hookers arsehole. I'd rather play Bond. Or move Wallace in there and put Joe in the halves.
Well their bench and their NSW Cup side for this week should answer that really. They don't have much depth in the forwards at the moment. Shouldn't be starting in first grade but is probably worthy of a bench place.
That's where he plays when he comes on though. Bond at hooker.. wouldn't work. If you don't think Hunt is a good enough hooker (and fair enough too) then you should replace him with another hooker, because you need one in that spot.
Like I said earlier, Granville or Baptiste have to be there. I'd seriously just give Hunt a decent shot in the halves. God knows Wallace and Norman got one.
I don't think Bond at hooker would be particularly good either. I'm simply saying Hunt is terrible and even playing Bond there would be better. If it was up to me I'd be playing Wallace on the bench.
He's had an odd game every now and then. Not a proper shot. Even if he fails, it's not like Wallace and Norman haven't been failing too.
1 Bond 6 Prince 7 Wallace 9 McCollough 14 Baptiste For mine. But realistically, any coach who makes wholesale changes to his spine after Round 1 is a complete douche (see: Ivan Cleary). Whether we think the team he picked in Round 1 was right or not, he needs to give them more than just the first game of the season to form a combination. He obviously believes in what he's done so I'll have more respect for him giving it at least a couple of weeks than I would if it changed it something I thought would work better.
I'd have more respect for him if he actually gets the balls to drop Norman. Just remember that Kahu is supposedly a fullback too, though I've never seen him play there.
That's hardly wholesale changes. Changes in key positions, yeah. And whilst perseverance may earn him respect, it won't earn him compliments about judgment.
Doubt you've seen much of Bond either, just sounds like a dropping for the sake of it. There's really been nothing to suggest that Bond or Kahu deserve the fullback spot over Hoffman anyway other than they just haven't been given a go which isn't really justification at all imo.
No, I haven't seen much of him. I haven't seen much of Kahu either. But they were signed for a reason. What I do know is that neither Hoffman nor Norman seem like they have what it takes to be a modern day fullback.
