Sutton was good when he actually touched the ball. Pettybourne was pathetic. SKD looked dangerous every time he touched the ball. Martin Kennedy looks a future rep prop for sure. Ben Ross was terrible. Sandow was enigmatic. Roosters will be gun again when Carney is back. Leilua adds a lot from his own end, should play on that wing all year IMO.
fmd, the roosters have a gun prop rotation. Maso, Kennedy, Ryles and FPN + Myles (they can add a fair bit in the middle) Riddell looked pretty shit and you could really tell he was out of his depth when Friend came on and carved Souths up for a bit just before halftime.
I'd definitely start with Friend (if he has the capacity to play 80 minutes well) and bring Riddell on to play a bit of backrow and as a second dummy half. The line that Symonds ran for that try was very good and it was the crucial moment, BUT.... I thought he was trying to play five-eighth for the rest of the game rather than trying to hit a hole all night. Can't see a spot for him when Anasta reverts to the backrow, unless he plays centre.
Nah Riddell starting is the best possible option for us. Friend can play 80 minutes but he really wears down during the last 20. I would much rather start with Piggy for the first 20 and end with Friend for an energetic last 60 rather than the other way around or than leaving Friend vulnerable for the last 20.
I think you guys should be worried about your go forward in the first 20 minutes. you really lacked the ability to make metres before W-H and Masoe came on.
