**** that was one of the worst games ever. Glad we got the win, it was scrappy but a win is a win. I honestly think Lockyer has passed it. He was so predictable that at one point I was guessing what he was going to do and was getting it right. If it isn't the cut out ball, it's the inside ball and if he has the ball close to our line they will do the same shit even though they don't realise that Folau isn't there to barge over. Honestly a better team would have put 80 on the Broncos.
All the blame is being put on Locky at the moment...But who is exactly helping him? He is the only person capable of winning us games. 3 or 4 years ago he would have won us the game tonight and Vs Canberra but just because he can't now it doesn't mean he is past it. It means he isn't as good as he used to be.
Yeah, Lockyer was amongst your best in Round 1. He hasn't had a great start to the year and I don't think he's one of the premier players in the game anymore, but there's a big difference between that and being "passed it", which implies the guy isn't first grade standard anymore. Brisbane losing is not a shock to me. They don't have a very good team. Lockyer is the least of their problems though.
How many fowards have Brisbane got out? They looked to have a very small and unmotivated pack to me and they got nothing from their outside backs a couple of points in the game the 9 and Wallace made breaks and had noone to pass to to finish it off.
that's what I thought. Also who takes up most of Brisbanes cap? they seem to invest too much in the youngins to me 9 were 21 or under out on the field IIRC seems they could've used a more experienced outside back.
Your backline isn't too bad atm with Vidot, Thompson and Croker. Put Monaghan back in (hypothetically) on the other wing and really Carney isn't much better than any of them and nor is Milne. Galea isn't better than your second rowers in Picker & Harrison tbh or Fensom and with the inclusion of Miller it would give you a bench of TLL, Thurling, Miller & Waddell so really only 3 losses are important, you can't argue much really.
Hunt's money? PJ's Money? Clinton's Money? Taylor's Money Gillett is duel reg with Norths so he isn't on much, need to lock him up imo and Anderson is probably on similar to what Taylor was and i cant imagine Kemp is on a hell of alot. so there should still be money to play with. we should be under by a fair amount imo..
Broncos for the first time in a long time would be under the cap this year. Lockyer + Hodges + Folau takes up a good 1.2 mil I'd say.
