Well, to round of one of the worst days of my life yesterday (My Team: Newcastle) getting relegated. I now have the worst hangover I have had in a long time. I am thinking fried breakfast, but I know what will happen....God, I hate football sometimes.
I must admit, I also had a few tears. It's hard to explain to some people what it means when the team you loyally support and would die for get relegated. A lot of people who aren't sport orientated, just look on and think, what a bunch of muppets. Grown men crying over a football team. But that's the way it is. Football is a matter of life and death here in Newcastle, and this is a new low for Newcastle as a team and a city.
It's funny what it turns you into. My family have not really spoken to me yet since yesterday, and they probably know not to....just yet!!
Martins will be gone Taylor, Bassong et all will be out of the door. None of the players have relegation release clauses in their contracts though.
TBH they have done nothing for us all season and we need to get their wages off the bill. This will be a chance for us to play some of the local lads, who are willing to get stuck in. I just hope that Steven Taylor stays.
Owen won't go back to Livepool... they won't buy a striker this season, unless its a semi decent cheap to sit on the bench. Benitez likes using Gerrard just behind Torres, and its worked so why change it?
Proof? Or is that just hope/speculation? Same. Hopefully it's taught Steve Gibson a lesson not to put his faith in shithouse managers. I didn't. It's hard to know what they feel like given there is no relegation system in the NRL or in the A-League ... but I can empathise and it's a ****ing devestating thought. Relegated clubs are more than likely to lose all their players, gain half as much in income and fall into massive debt and financial trouble. It's absolutely devestating for fans. Not necessarily. In fact, it's now official that 5 of the last 15 clubs that have been relegated since the Premier League began in 1992 have slipped down from the Championship division to League One. Meaning that if a team gets relegated, there's a 33% chance that they will slip down further divisions into English football's abyss.
Still cant believe Newcastle are Relegated, That is a team i never expected to drop, ohwell Bad luck to them.
