You were about to click it but knowing me you didn't. But how did this fit into it? Conflicting stories tstl. Owned.
Yeah, I've been emailing a few top-end shared hosting sites that advertise themselves as being good for forums. This one looks promising. If they aren't confident in being able to support us though I'll have to move on to low-end VPS deals.. and low-end hosting isn't an option I'm excited about. I'm also looking into ways to reduce server load so we can stay with this host as I've been really impressed with everything they have to offer other than their issue with our resource-hogging, but I think that's a bit of a dead end unfortunately.
I actually agree with your idea (in a way). For obvious reasons, I don't want the Gamblers kicked out, but maybe having a 'super comp' means less simmage, which could mean less of that server overload shit.
Well, some very good news. A URLJet employee has told me that their shared hosting plan should be fine for us as far as the forum is concerned after having a look at our forum usage numbers. They weren't too sure about how the stats site would effect things but they offered to help us make it more efficient if it caused major problems, something they didn't seem to think was too likely anyway.
