Ditto.....was a hard choice when I first signed up and didn't want to be an All-Rounder, so decided on opener instead, wish I was an offy now.
But if you keep them the new player will dominate, so whenever someone has a below par player they'll just retire.
Perhaps the sim should operate in a 3 year window. So right now simmers will operate on their posts from 2010, 2011 and 2012 but next year it will be 2011, 2012 and 2013 etc etc. Just keeps it fresh I guess, and people won't lose posts, but the scope of posts used will be smaller. This will probably indicate a player whose powers are waning if they were uber active a few years ago but are sporadic in more recent times. Just like in reality when a player is slowing down.
Thing is we don't run on calendar years on the forum we run on seasons. We also already have Season Weight Post Ranks that give more value to people who have been active more recently.
Nah DWTA. SWPRs aren't nearly influential enough. Don't expect someone like me to be gunning Bannerman Shield but there are guys who are gun in BS who haven't posted in ages.
Inactives are declining over time which is realistic. Most of the best players are still active, especially this season. Activity is much like training. Just because you stop training doesn't mean you will instantly become bad, however over time you will start to decline.
Your system wouldn't change anything. It is not the post count which make less active members good, it's past performance. If you remove past performance, then you have players going from good to shit in one season.
Let the new cunts dominate, us older members have already been dragged down by the quicksand that is cricsim, we're not going anywhere whether our player is good or bad. Let the new guys dominate so they hang around and take interest in the sim and eventually drown with us.
