Sharks have signed Tony Williams. Cunt should never start. He can be handy off the bench but he's not a starting forward's arsehole.

Hoffman to Eels confirmed as well.

They have better options across the board...

They need a new hooker or half and should throw whatever they can at them.

I think he could work well in a rotation with Lewis. 50/30 with Lewis obviously obviously playing the more minutes.

Only downside is I doubt Tony Williams is on a contract that says 30minute benchie but he'll never be more than that IMO.

Gees you blokes are carrying on.

Nothing wrong with Townsend, he's perfectly serviceable. Had a rough trot towards the end but was really, really good for the year.

As for a hooker we're fine. Nu Brown is a quality player who will do a good job next year until Jayden Brailey is ready to go and then our future hooker is sorted. Holden Cup player of the year with 31 line break assists and 32 try assists. We'll be just fine, cheers.

Was having this discussion with someone else a few weeks back, I think the Holden Cup is a paradise for dummy halves. The attacking stats they put up highlighted by Jayden Brailey above are ridiculous. They're Robbie Farah at his peak if he was taking steroids type stats.

    Jayden Braily (8LB, 33LBA & 31TA)
    Grant Garvey (18tries, 17LB, 22TA & 16LBA)
    Brandon Smith (18tries, 26LB, 21TA & 23LBA)

The defence in the 20's is shocking that goes without saying but the ruck defence in particular is just woeful and dummy halves have an absolute field day. I just wonder how many clubs are picking the bloke who gives their 20's side the best shot and how many clubs are picking the dummy half who is the best shot at making First Grade. Or possibly the problem is deeper than that and playing that brand of footy which is so far removed from First Grade it does nothing but harm their development and sets them up for failure.

Because every year we hear about a dummy half who absolutely shredded the competition and yet one after another they all invariably struggle to convert their performances into the top grade.

I don't have any stats to back this up but I'm sure I'd be right in saying that it's the position that has the worst conversion rate of NYC players to First Grade. I think we've all seen a dummy half or 2 come through the 20's system who looked like a world beater and turned out to be a dud.

Those stats mean fuck all anyway. They just aren't a good measure of a hooker. Show me defensive efficiency. And can the cunt pass off the ground on both sides. If they aren't proficient at those, I don't care how many line breaks they create.

    hahahaha

A big issue is how much did the Sharks fork out for a bloke who will bring more questions than answers?

Greg Bird off to Catalans for 5yrs. Wow

  11. Tartmaster AJ James

    3 years playing
    2 years as assistant coach.

    Interesting

Yeh cant say I ever saw Greg Bird as the type to go into coaching post career.

Unless of course its just a 2 years of big pay to be an "assistant coach".

    Inglis resigned til 2020.

    Vaughn -> Dragons, 3 years.

  14. Julian BJ Taylor

Very unhappy about this but he was blacklisted mid season for off field stuff which I know had been an issue for at least 18 months or so before Stuart cracked.

Yeah, though it does help in retaining Rapana.

Was Fensom being dropped also behavior related, or simply the new direction Ricky is going with for his middle?

  16. Cribbage RG Cribb

Now Fensom was just dropped for tactical/performance reasons. Apparently Ricky hated having to do it because he considers him a mate or something.

Dave Taylor to the Raiders on a short term deal???

Edit: Seems he's been offered a shot to prove himself in the preseason.

Paul Vaughan is a great signing for the Dragons, although must be a little bittersweet for Dragons fans when you hear he's reportedly on something similar to Trent Merrin.
