I hereby declare that the main referee for this game will be me. After watching Jason Nightingale play the ball to himself and the referees missing it completely, I've had enough. Rather than just sitting here and whinging about it like normal, I've decided to take drastic action. I have enrolled myself to a referees course and as of this coming weekend I will officially become a level 1 referee and begin my journey of single handedly fixing the game's officiating. I have just purchased my whistle and have sent a personal tweet to Matt Cecchin on tips for the perfect blowing technique. It's time to take a stand, one right decision at a time.
Haha. I've genuinely thought about this in the past. Gets to the 10 second stage of an idea when I realise what absolute low end scum I'd deal with and laugh at what a shit idea it was in the first place.
Haha I'm actually pretty excited. I've always wanted to get back involved some how and I just don't think playing is a good idea. I'm keen to see how I handle pressure with all the shit that the refs get. I think it'll be a good learning experience. Plus it gives me extra money and extea exercise too.
Acme Thunderer 58.5 (not the one with the annoying finger grip attached), 20 bucks and because I did some research and that's what all referees use.
I will see you in the 2027 grand final as Tigers halfback as I am deciding to enter the Coach competition and will become Ricky Stuart's protege.
Good luck my friend. If you do, I'll make sure you'll be the first half back in the Central Coast Tigers history to be sent off in an NRL grand final.
Haha yeah that would be the ultime test, to not show bias if I was to ever referee us. Some current NRL refs fail that test. If I'm not taking over Tony Archer's role then I'm in.
League Career Progress: Took the field today, playing touch footy at uni. Managed a try with a lovely against the grain run into a hole, created a try with a Lyon-Esque move to get on the outside of my man and create a 3-2 and also made a break from first receiver as I took the play back to the short-side and with a few dummies and nice step got on the outside of the winger and down the sideline. Sadly I got pulled after only a few minutes against our toughest opponent due to a complete lack of fitness. On a scale of 1-10 for required fitness I'm at about a -6 and it's not looking to improve anytime before my nose surgery.
I made a point of saying hello to one of our refs today waiting in line at subeay. Hopefully our shared love of footlong pizza sub on italian herb will pay dividends in the season ahead
