    Kyle Laybutt was pretty much the best player on the ground in the resident game on Sunday. Easily outplayed Nikorima and Cornish. Cows fans should be keeping an eye on him.

    2 things.

    - I really can't comprehend the Cowboys having any wiggle room in their cap at all to acquire Lolohea this season. The only way I can see that being possible is them releasing Ponga to Newcastle early. That makes a lot of sense to me though if that's what they're thinking.

    - Surely, surely with Thurston out they play Coote in the halves with Ponga at fullback. I know Ponga is gone next season but surely that combination > Thompson at halfback.

    Apparently they have signed Charlie Gubb for the next 2 years, trying to push for an early release.

    Not sure if they get any cap dispensation for the Matt Scott, I seem to remember some rule about players being out for log period of time but that may just apply to suspensions.

    Surely you don't get cap dispensation for an injury like that. It's tough, but it's just part of the sport.

    Tough one tonight but pretty happy they even got this far. With not just injuries but having to reshuffle positions we were eventually gonna run out of steam. Storm too clinical and Cowboys far too conservative with their attack and that one out bullshit.

    Quite confident in next year given Maclean is a needed boost for our front row.

    They've been pretty rusty to say the least in the trials especially against the Storm young guns in the testimonial but good to see their not giving up attitude remains. Can only be positive they'll keep improving.
