Nah. Only Gaz Weaver is a Southerner. In theory Darts and Bots live in Christchurch, I think, but without the CD players South's a no-go. If the other CD guys don't mind playing for Souff, then I guess we could swap SM and Phlegm.
I think we have at least one CD member from the area. What's the makeup of the six provinces? Heef posted them a while back I think. Pretty sure Wellington could field an 11 on their own by now. ND and Auckland together could with ease. We could split the teams a bit in other ways, e.g. Northern, Wellington and NZ Districts. I appreciate what Heef is trying to do, I'm just saying I don't want to represent Souths. If they absolutely need me to field a team then I'll play because it would be unfair on the other ten, but as soon as we had another member from South join the site I'd pull out.
What if you included your ring-ins? Teja, Cevno and m0rphin3 are New Zealanders in four-day cricket - they could be made South for the sake of numbers.
Actually, Astele is from Nelson. Not sure where Skippos hails from, but Astele and Weaver would qualify for South Island CDers.
SM said he was happy to swap to South if it was easier, so just swapping him and Phlegm and moving SM down the order for South should be fine; assuming Damo and Morgan are happy to play for South.
North PM Jackson SP Phlegm J Torres JE Harding DP Howell (+) LE Schaw CB Darts (4) AJ Izett (3) JR Denton (1) GR Smith (2) JJ Ritchie (5) South JJD Heads (6) S Bakkum SM Morgan MSM Monkeywrench DRP Taylor MW Scoble MD Dorn (5) DA Astele (2) GJ Weaver (1) CJ Smith (3) CW Jennings (4)
Don't really want to do that though, Want to actually test out players and use it as a genuine practise match, would rather have a possibles vs probables sorta thing if we were going to start playing ring ins that have no chance of actually making th side any time soon. Assuming this will be a FC match?
i.e. Not **** it up like QLD have done. Torres in the right on a selection matter. OMFG. I'd better bookmark this.
Doesn't really improve North, but doesn't make it much worse and ensures they don't have a specialist #11.
Looks like I'm needed to play for South, so I'll do it, but drop me as soon as a Southerner joins. I reckon splitting CD on island is a good idea in future, otherwise we'll have people from Taranaki, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay in Souths, which is a bit amusing. And you could give Souths all the Wellingtonians who can't make Norths, if they were willing to play.
