    Saw it at OT many year ago when Forlan finally scored. Same reaction (though I admit I was stood 5 rows above the crossbar and ducked as he took the pen, so missed it)

    Depay vs USA from yesterday. Reminds me alot of a young Ronaldo - reckon there'll be a couple of years of frustration where he's just trying too much and then he'll be either the next Ronaldo or the next Nani. Lots of potential there though, that cross for Huntelaar was superb

    One year the Manchester Evening News kept a running tally of our 'signings' and figured we would've spent £300m+ that summer, if every rumour turned out to be true. Think it was the summer we did spend big on Anderson, Nani and Hargreaves

    I'm pretty sure Ramos is just leveraging for an improved contract. Schweinsteiger is more likely because he's becoming more of a fringe player at Bayern but I wouldn't want to pay a huge amount for him given his age

    He is 30. Given the role he is playing, he could easily play another 4/5 years. at a high standard. I'd still sign him for 20 mill for sure.

    I'd more excited about the prospect of getting Schneiderlin who has Premier League experience, had a fantastic season last year and is only 25. For ~5mill more that's a much better deal imo

    I'm not sure tbh. Schweini has proved he is class time and time again. Schneiderlin had a good season, but Bastian is another level for me, and exactly the player United would need, imo. Schneiderlin would be a class signing if you couldn't get Bastian, but I'd definitely take him over Schneiderlin. He'll be good for at least another 3 seasons.

    Its a tough call for me, BS has been a player I've admired for years, and would love him at OT, MS is a very good player, who'd do a very good job for us. Like you say, BS is good for another 3 years at least, but you can add 5 years onto that for MS..... I'm a little worried that our current planning has skewed too much to the short term, spending lots of money on players who'll do a job for a bit - Now its not fully like that, as signing Depay shows, but people like Van Persie, even Di Maria, lots of money for players who aren't going to give us too many years. Its fine when there's no better option, but I'm a little torn that we could sign BS for 3 years, then end up spending on someone like MS anyway


    I dunno, guess i'll take either, heart wants one and head the other


    (BS/MS.... CBA with these long names!!!)
