    Indeed. Potential to be very good definitely.

    Been going on about him for a while on here. Last time someone dominated Reserve football for United like this was Giusseppe Rossi and since then he has only grown in the first team without breaking a stride so far.

    Maybe the reaction right now might be slightly over the top though, because it's been bit of a barren season in terms of that type of creativity and he has been a breath of fresh air playing with form and confidence.

    Is it just me or is the fact he didn't get 7 imply we're going after another big name attacking midfielder? Kroos or Reus perhaps?

    Well he was asked that question in the press conference, so if that was the case surely he'd have just said "I wanted the 8 shirt". Instead he dodged it somewhat by replying along the lines of "I discussed it with the manager and we decided 8 was a good number for me"

    He is more of an 8 than a 7, IMO anyway.

    I'll eat my words if you do sign a new #7 this window but I really don't see it. :p

    Oh, I wasn't talking about this window - I'd be pleasantly surprised if anyone else came. Was more referring to the summer. I had expected Mata to be the last of our AM/winger transfers with more of a focus on at least 1 CM, a CB, a LB and maybe a striker (who'd take #9)... but perhaps another attacking player could be on the cards now

    Oh yeah, well obviously you'll have to make CL for that. If you do you'll definitely make a load of signings as you'll scrape in and want to title challenge next year.

    Will be interesting to see how we're effected if we dont get CL. Obviously it'll be a massive blow, but I wonder if people will be able to get over one season without Europe to play for a side as big as ours. Basically what Mata's done giving up the CL knockout stages which really is what playing in Europe is all about.

    On a side not i'm surprised Shaw -> United is getting as much coverage as it is... AFAIK he's a Chelsea fan so surely the Chelsea v Man U debate is a no brainer if both sides get bids accepted?
