Lovable Shunt: CL Warrington

The Knights side of Season 11 has found itself full to the brim of controversial characters. There's the likes of sexually frustrated Corka, who's single-handedly fulfilled the urges of numerous first team players throughout the season (which is a large part of the recent Horrigan Cup success, Dave Crowley suggests). There's Celtic mystery spinner Alej Parero whose spin is so unreadable that the mercurial spinner's number 1 fan was revealed to be none other than shady CricSim competition owner Robert Cribb. Cribb went on to comment that until Parero's stock ball had been discovered, his CricSim profile would read 'Aggressive Mystery Spin Bowler'. Another Knight who has found immediate fame is James Taylor, who has been fending off Siege Morgan and Robert Cribb who he fears are stalking him. As the young wicket-keeper turns up for Second XI training, caws of 'THE HALF BACK' are heard echoing around The Castle. Taylor looks on, clearly disgruntled.

But perhaps the star of the show is batting all-rounder Chris Warrington. After a strong run of games, the young Brit established himself as a star of the future, scoring a well-paced 74 against a strong Brumbies bowling attack. He then went on to score consistently against the likes of the Punters and the Kings. We at Crusaders Media have caught up with the man affectionately known as 'Lewie' around these parts.

Crusaders Media: Morning Lewie. First up we'd like to know what's it been like playing in a moderately unsuccessful Knights side thus far?

Christopher Warrington: Well it's been difficult, the team has failed this season. Clearly we look better with the return of Parreo, he's clearly a class act. No one can read the mystery spin at all. I still hate failure though. It's been a long time working with the team, but we're improving. I wish that the selectors would take my two keepers idea though, that would really put us on a different level.

CM: Despite being the lowest ranked bowler on the site, there's been a large amount of hype regarding Parero. How has he been in the nets?

CW: Personally, the only reason that he seems good is that no one knows where the ball is going. Not even him. You know that someone's bad if I've got a better bowling average that them. Rankings don't lie. In the nets Parero has been at his usual standard, of bowling about five balls then going off. He needs to get in the nets more, it's the only way to improve that terrible ranking.

CM: Your bowling has come along leaps and bounds since you've been handed the ball more by Knights captain Chris Kovas, do you feel you can become a genuine fifth bowling option in the future?

CW: Well I am improving, I think that the real turnaround point was the three wickets against the Kings. Clearly I will need to bowl more and more, and the promotion of Gbagbo to the first team will hopefully mean that I am trusted with the ball more in his absence. More wickets have came since Parero's return, Chris (Kovas) is giving the ball to me more because he doesn't want to face the alternatives.

CM: How has the instability in the dressing room effected the team's performances in your opinion? Crusaders Media has heard young Corka has had sexual relations with a number of Knights' partners and wives.

CW: Now that's a joke. Corka couldn't chat up a girl even if they were blind and deaf. These rumours have came from him, we all know that he fantasizes about everything. When he was out to bat, a couple of the lads looked inside his bag. You don't want to know what was in there. Fair to say that he gets a fair bit of stick for it.

CM: Corka and yourself are part of a group of Knights who are performing well in their rookie seasons. How do you feel the Knights will do next season?

CW: We can all see that we're improving as a team, I think next season we will be far more competitive. The first season is the hardest one and we'll get some runs under our belts in preparation for next season. As long as the core of the team stick together everything will be fine.

CM: And personally, what are your goals for the rest of this season and heading into Season 12?

CW: I want to regain my batting form. Not been too good lately and I need to improve it. Looking for a maiden century sometime soon, I've hit fifty but never the full ton. Also I would like to work on my bowling, so that I can be considered the fifth option with the ball for the Knights, and deserve it. Every area of my game deserves attention so I can become a better player.

CM: Thanks a lot. We'll leave you to it.

    CW: Cheers mate.

So where does THE HALF BACK meme come from anyway?

Just Cribb repeatedly telling him off?

  8. Raide KN Rask

I think it was from Skippos getting really annoyed with him (THE HALF BACK) in AFL sim, Cribb started to try annoy Skippos with it - I think that's how it went.

Or Cribb just really likes the guy :ninja:
