But not sure which one to get; the 4gb hard drive for 299 or the 250gb one for 449. One saves me 150 bucks, but I'm not sure what I'm losing out on. Why does all that extra space matter?
4gb is too small. I ended up buying a separate 250gb hard drive. Occasionally, there will be a game that you'll want to install for it to run at any decent speed. Add that to any DLC that you choose to download and that 4gb will be gone ASAP.
Pretty sure you should be able to buy the 4GB version then buy a 250GB stand alone hdd cheaper than buying the 250GB outright.
Lets just assume for a second he has half a brain and realises that Harvey Norman are willing (their staff are allowed) to sell it at a similar price in store then he could quite easily go in there and just talk to them and even after the conversion to NZD it's still well short of the 299 quoted.
250gb is $110 buy now on TradeMe, which is where I got mine from. So, even without shopping around, Frizzed is right.
Yeah haven't checked out trademe yet. I'm a bit wary of second hand because 360s are known to blow up at a moments notice.
Nah, I mean you can buy a brand new 250gb hard drive for the 360 on Trade Me. So, you could buy the 4gb package for $299, then buy the separate 250gb hard drive for $110 and then you've got the 250gb package for only $409
That's optimistic of you.:ninja: Harvey Norman are the biggest rip off buggers in the country, but you have a good idea, so I checked the price and at $338 for the 4GB console it will take some serious talking to bring them down to that Australian price.
Then, you can buy the 360 4gb package now. That'll keep you going for a while, tbf (it took me 3 years before I needed the 250gb, but I don't get the time to play that much), so it gives you time to save up or even decide if you need the larger capacity. EDIT: The hard drives unclip and clip in really easily so that shouldn't worry you.
