Junior Club Project

    This is something I've always wanted to do. It comes up a lot in expansion debates and 'purpose of your club' debates (and for good reason) but I've never really seen anyone adequately lay it out.

    I'm going to go through all the NRL squads on nrl.com, get the junior clubs for all the players and separate them into districts/competitions, one NRL club at a time.

    If anyone has special information about a player that I list incorrectly, or a club that I put in the wrong district or whatever, then I'd love to know. Especially from the Queenslanders here as the system obviously works a bit different from the NSW system where all the NSWRL clubs just have their own junior competition plus groups for the bush comps. So don't hesitate in telling me I'm an idiot if I do something wrong. :p

    Obviously it was difficult to figure out what to do with Kemp. I think his first league was in Brisbane so that'd probably be a fairer place to put him.

    Shane Troncs junior club was Arana Hills? which would place him in Brisbane if im not mistaken.

    Which you have, i thought it said Gold Coast. My bad.

    AFAIC you can almost include NSW country for Canberra for this reason. Only Tilse, Ferguson and TLL from that lot didn't come through the Canberra system.

    AND geographically you'd definitely hand Griffith, Leeton, Cootamundra and Forbes to Canberra.

    Also, I'm pretty sure that Brisbane junior sides play within their own districts. Like I don't think that the kids from East Brisbane play against everyone else around Brisbane. I think that it's broken up very similarly to the Q cup sides. I could be wrong on that one thoguh.

    Yeah, I'll sort that out later. I know Group 21 for example is part of the Newcastle system, St George look after Group 7 to a large extent and Group 6 (IIRC - the Macarthur comp anyway) is tied in with Wests. Easier to just list them in the groups first and then assign the groups to teams later though.
