Yeah. I have the album now. Lossless released a FLAC leak on twitter. It is so different to most of their stuff it's crazy. A couple of songs are really growng on me straight up: We Need a Myth and Your Life as a Blast. The lyrics (stories) are a lot more understated and they're a much more competent rock band. The new drummer (from cursive and a few other rock bands) has really changed the dynamics, much more catchy rock beats. I'm trying to work out what the sound is reminding me of.
I listened to it on NPR all last week and bought the album on Sunday. We Need a Myth is growing on me and I really like Wake and be fine but the rest is sorta just meh at the moment. It's definitely listenable and I wouldn't skip but nothing sticks out. Hopefully it's like the Nationals' High Violet where tracks jsut grew on my with each listen.
Hey Julian, are you a fan of the National? I've only just really started listening to their old stuff but they are fucking awesome. Reckon they'd be up your ally if you're not already into them.
