    Ah, fair enough.

I'm not. My original point was that it is insignificant in his career. It was hardly a 'horrific' series for him anyway. His average was terrible, but his bowling could hardly be described as horrific as Marcuss suggests.

  3. Cribbage RG Cribb

    DWTA.

Horrific is as bad as it comes, this was hardly the worst possible series for a bowler. It was a horrid series, definitely, but not horrific.

Ftr, I'm not arguing that an average of 70 isn't horrific, because it is. But judging Siddle's bowling solely on an average of 70 in a two match series is stupid.

I never said anything about his bowling specifically, leave the straw man alone.

  6. Baxter MJ Deane

Yeah, let's argue semantics and the definitions of adjectives. Yay.
It was horrific, abysmal, horrid, dreadful, woeful etc etc

  7. Baxter MJ Deane

Yep, that's exactly what I did.

    Are you actually retarded?

  8. Baxter MJ Deane

Yes they do. Just like they do when they look at Johnson vs Pakistan.

  9. Mousey AJ Son

What? This whole time we were talking about his bowling, you bought up his average as evidence for your argument. I've even admitted that 70 is a "horrific" average. What else could we be talking about?

And there is no need to add things on such as your straw man comment just because you feel you are losing this argument. That's just blatant trolling.

It's simple. There is good, better, best. In this case there is horrid, horrible, horrendous, horrific. Each have different connotations, I'm not trying to do what you think I am.

  11. Baxter MJ Deane

No, the straw man comment was perfectly justified considering I've never suggested anything you've mentioned. I've never said he threw down half tracker, no balls, full tosses and leg stump half volleys .

All I've said that bowling, while being unthreatening and "ineffective" is the definition of bad test match bowling. In that series Siddle bowled badly, he didn't do his job at all and averaged 70 ffs. How is that not horrific?

  12. Baxter MJ Deane

Horrendous, horrible, horrific etc are all synonyms. They mean the same thing.
You're just trying to be completely and utterly pedantic and claim that averaging 70 is "really, really, really bad but not horrific" **** off. It's horrific.

  13. Mousey AJ Son

 I think we're actually arguing nothing. I said he bowled badly, you said he bowled badly. You said averaging 70 is horrific, I agreed.

  14. Baxter MJ Deane

No, you said he hadn't had a bad series and then proceeded to try and defend him averaging 70 at home against the West Indies.

Again, you're wrong. This is my original post.

  16. Baxter MJ Deane

Yeah, I'm wrong and the one putting words in other people's mouths.

He hasn't had a "really bad" series yet is what I said, and I stand by that. He was bad, I admit that, but he wasn't really bad. His average was, but he wasn't.

    Bitch, please.

I'm not going to bother anymore. I watched the series Marcuss, yeah, he was average but stats over a two match series don't really indicate how he bowled. He didn't bowl "horrifically". That is all I have been trying to say, and it's the truth - whether you like it or not.
