You not like that, fair enough, bit heavy with the wording, but I'll expand. I cannot have confidence in Luiz being a regular defender for a title winning side. He has too many comedy moments. Over a 38 game season, he will cost too many points. Terry probably will let off in court, so thats fair enough, scrap that one. Still a **** though Cech, well, one look at Greece's goal today underlines his biggest weakness. He just doesn't have the confidence to go for a ball when bodies are closing in. He's still a good shot stopper, but a cynical team can put him under pressure by playing him, not the ball, and get mistakes out of him. Today it was his own defender who inadvertanly did it, but you can see in the replays how distracted he is by those around him. I'm not surprised, the injury he received from Hunt was horrific, and I understand why he still wears a headguard today. However it has robbed him of a certain fearlessness a top class keeper needs. A low ball into the box is one of the most dangerous going, and you can see Cech's natural instinct is to either shy away from throwing himself in, or not being 100% focused on the ball if he does.
Fair enough, what happens if he mishears, making me repeat it on camera saying 'Did you think I said.....'?
Luiz has been very strong post christmas, seems to have matured a bit and finally settled down to english football. he put in a steady disciplined performance against bayern when half injured. in relation to cech, yeah he does sometimes look weak when coming out for the ball on corners etc, but if oppo players do target him and not the ball, 98/100 he will get a free kick. before thisn season i would have agreed with you, but i think this last season he has proved himself to be back among the top 10 keepers in the world again. i wont go into the Terry case, but if he does say get banned for 10 games... Gary Cahill has proved himself since january to be a more than capable replacement. Ashley cole is still the best left back in the world, and ivanovic is solid at right back (although id say thats the weakest postion in the chelsea back 4)
id say so yeah. its a strong back 4, so im not saying he is a poor player. but out of a back 5 of, Cech, ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole id say teams would look at ivanovic as the weakest link
He had a couple of decent games But the fact that they've not conceeded in some games hasn't been down to him. Its just been down to teams dropping all their spaghetti around him. Barca should of had like 5 which were nothing to do with Cech being good or bad Hes still been rubbish when hes had to deal with a lot of things that hes been known to be suspect for from the past couple of seasons The Czech game showed what hes like when hes not got good defenders saving him
