Nah, it doesn't happen nearly as much in LoL. In LoL, you ask for help and the jungler will be there to help. In Dota you ask for help and the other carries just keep on farming. CC is really strong in Dota, but much more so at pub level because the counter to lots of CC is having more team mates to support you. That just doesn't happen. Was Viper, laned with OD who was taking all my farm (he had 80+ damage when I only had 51 or something...). Mid-Pudge literally camped bot; he was level 6 when I was level 7. OD left after I died the first two times and I was left alone while NA fail ganked top a few times. Team cries at me for feeding. I ended up 1/4/1 in lane. I finally got some farm, won the game and ended up with most kills, most assists and still only 4 deaths.
The sad thing is half of the time, your mid will claim he won in that situation I get the same sort of crap, a couple of games ago I got a stone giant who ran items that didn't let him combo due to mana pool, who then ganked twice (unsuccessfully obv) top for me when I was suicide faerie vs a jungler trilane, then starts raging at me for being crap. He then returns mid as a level 4 vs a level 6 and gets instakilled. And our trilane bot fed fb too, vs a solo bristleback...
In my current I just got a trilane against me. Sad thing is I'm still doing the best on my team while the mid-Pudge was fail again. Didn't even bother to help me.
Trilanes aren't the biggest deal, just keep a decent position so they can't catch you out and if there's too many stuns, give up and leave lane.
Surviving trilanes is easy, yes, as long as you are willing to give up farm and experience. But to let a Spectre trilane continue to free farm is going to lose you the game, especially when you made CK do the solo.
I'm used to spectres being trash, still in a year I haven't seen one carry, even if you let them freefarm. I hate the hero so much, just because players won't farm enough on him and the hero can't farm, and even lategame he has almost no damage.
He's actually really powerful. Radiance and diffusal plus the passive damage bonus means he can do a lot of damage really quickly.
He can't get any proper farm before his radiance though, and he tends to need vanguard before that anyway. And even then, hes a meh hard carry.
Yes, but it aint gonna arrive before about 20 mins in any case if you're getting buildup item, and even then he contributes 0 in a lane, he needs a trilane just to get farm, or to dual-lane vs a solo.
Which was my point.. he had a trilane and I was left alone as CK against him. Our pudge ended up with a force staff, bottle, magic wand, basic boots, bracer and a cloak after 54 minutes.
That's completely irrelevant, because what other heroes can do has absolutely nothing to do with what Spectre can do, and did do in my case. My point was Spectre can become a powerful carry. I never said anything about Spectre being a better carry than anyone else.
I know, I just really have a huge bias against spectre/sniper due to what noobs always do in low brackets after picking it.
That's just the issue with the pubbie Dota mentality though. Everyone wants to carry with every hero they pick, even when the team already has four other carries.
Better then the current lol setup people pick and use champs how Pros do cause it is seen as OP at top teir, whereas champs like Rammus and jungle ali etc are just as effective if not more at lower levels because of their insane level 2/3 and snowball mentality yet are hardly used because they dont get airtime on tourny streams
Glad no-one tries that in HoN, you never see pro-style carry draconis (Noobs can do this one if they have patience, but only ever seen 1 do it properly) /sil because no-one can play the hero, yet things like ra are easy to deal with but will dominate noobs because no-one will dodge his stun by charging him. You do however, get horrible team balances 95% of the time.
