    Often the problem with covers is that they're kind of 'too obvious' and it comes across as dodgy kareoke. Guns n' Roses covering Sympathy for the Devil for example. Good band and good song but it's too close to the original and made me think I'd just rather listen to the Stones.

    Felt the GnR cover beefed up the Stones one a bit. Never been a big lover of Jaggers voice, Axl sounded a bit more menacing. However the 'oooh oooooh' in the background sounds far camper.

    Did their cover of 'Knocking on Heavens Door' not make the list? Does suprise me, also means GIMH isn't participating.

    Talking of Dylan, I absolutely adore Pearl Jam's cover of Masters of War, would've put it ahead of Last Kiss myself.

    So many songs up there that I completely forgot about though, some stunners in it.

    Really agree with this. I don't really see the point in really faithful covers. If you're going to cover a song, you need to add something at least a little bit different to it imo.
